Hullo!
Pal just posted a notice to the bulletin board offering physical medical examinations to anyone who is interested! Between Dax’s death and Jaune’s de-aging, and armed with newly-regained knowledge of human anatomy, he has decided that it would be a very good idea if they all kept better track of their health and what the heck is going on with their insides. This is obviously totally optional, both icly and oocly, but Pal probably will cheerfully and annoyingly ask people if they’ve had their physicals yet until they have.
The nitty-gritty: Though he isn’t a medical professional, not even by the standards of his own universe, in canon Pal has gained pretty advanced knowledge of medicine. Right now, he basically just knows everything there is to know about human anatomy; he can’t really treat or diagnose anything (yet!), but he knows enough to be able to say, for example, “I’m pretty sure your kidneys aren’t supposed to look like that.”
And how does he know what your kidneys look like? In essence, thanks to his necromantic powers, Pal can be a sort of walking MRI machine. He’s also very good at gauging the physical age of things, and at detecting cell death. He achieves all of this by laying his hands on someone. See, not invasive at all! But maybe a little spooky.
Anyway! If your character would be interested, please fill out the following form, just to help me keep track of what Pal knows. Obviously we have varying levels of canon knowledge about our characters’ health, so feel free to be as specific or general as possible.
And let me know if you have any questions!

cw: cancer, terminal illness, graphic descriptions of the same
Age (of physical body): Ariane's physical body is approximately 30 years old, developmentally. It has been held in stasis for centuries - approximately 700-1,000 years.
General health: Poor. See below for more details.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: Ariane has suffered from advanced and aggressive cancer caused by long-term radiation poisoning. Visually, this has caused weight loss, hair thinning, tooth loss, and lesions on her skin. Ariane experiences chronic pain and muscle weakness/atrophy from both the cancer and the experience of existing in cryogenic suspension for centuries. While she no longer has active cancer, she still currently experiences the after-effects from having cancer and being unable to move for a long period of time - namely, the chronic pain, weakness, and visual symptoms noted above.
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: Ariane is simultaneously 30 years old and hundreds-to-thousands of years old.
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? Play out!
Anything else I should know?: Nothing at the moment, but I'll be sure to reach out if anything comes up.
cw: mentions / descriptions of old injuries
Age (of physical body): 22
General health: Ridiculously healthy. It's absurd.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: He's currently running himself a little ragged. Chronic anxiety & resulting insomnia mean he doesn't get as much sleep as he should, and he has a bad habit of pushing through training injuries when he shouldn't, so he's got some muscle tearing that he really should deal with better. That seems to be an old habit.
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: Nope! Flynn's a bog-standard human being.
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? We can handwave it!
Anything else I should know?: Flynn is, 1, absolutely covered in scars, particularly a large nasty one over his heart that looks like a blast wound healed over badly and a lot of smaller ones that look like sword wounds and bite / claw marks,
and 2, as healthy as he is now, it's pretty clear from skeletal stuff that he was a malnourished kid for a while.
things to give pal a nervous breakdown!
You already know most of what would be going on with Cam, but if he wants to do a test run on her, or just pick it up, she was nabbed from considerably past the point of any of her memories in canon, so that might be fascinating to know [and useful for body-sharing angst, if you wanted it to be]. Like. "You seem okay, but you have some WEIRD THANERGY SIGNATURES"
(or, possibly just unusual ages of cell death and regrowth, since she's had some pretty good injuries/near-death experiences - getting stabbed, getting electrocuted, going into thanergy shock -- since the last time he would remember, and b)even short of them piloting at the same time, him just existing in her body causes her thalergy to try to convert faster, if I understand the 'timer' thing right).
She'd let him use her as a test subject if he wanted, and anyway even if he wants to pick it up from idle physical contact I figured it might be useful.
cw: non-human
Age (of physical body): 26 (ezri), 363 (dax)
General health: Tip-top! This is someone who stays active.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: N/a
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: You already know about her worm co-rider. Dax's circulatory system prioritizes the symbiont, hence her hands/feet always being cold unless she's super worked up. A lot more neurotransmitters than humans, a more complex nervous system. The spots are not just for show; they're some part of her homeostasis regulation that the books didn't detail so I shan't either <3
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? You're already trapped here. ^_^
Anything else I should know?: Unsure how his powers work, but for the flavor of it: Trill seem to live maybe up to 150+ years. / Dax is young for a symbiont; symbionts do not consider themselves old yet at 2000+ years old, and the ones considered "old" are 20,000 y/o. It's my understanding of the implications that the worms do not die naturally at all and may have some sort of 'immortal jellyfish' cell regeneration/self-healing; though they just continue to grow forever. / I feel Palamedes would likely be able to tell host and symbiont are codependent on one another (that is, that it can't be safely separated from ezri's brain)

Age (of physical body): It seems like centaurs age a bit faster than humans soooo I'm going to say 16, but he looks older.
General health: Pretty good, bro. Look how swole he is!
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: Light asthma.
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: very yes he is half honse, he has four kidneys, I imagine his lungs and heart are also interesting. Can't vomit. He's got a valve in his esophagus that he can consciously toggle to send food to one of two parallel digestive tracts that recombine at the end - one's quick and pretty humanlike, the other is slower and while not actually a horse stomach and set of intestines is set up to more efficiently digest grains and plants.
There's also probably some kind of nerve bundle thing going on in his lower body that means it's not as fully under his conscious control as humans generally are over their legs. If he's worked up he'll fidget, dance, kick out and has to work hard to suppress that. If he's depressed he may just stand in place even if he wants to start moving and it can actually be necessary to beat his own ass to get going.
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? either, could be funny but I don't think much would come of it.
Anything else I should know?: please tell him he's good bro

Character name: Need
Age (of physical body): readings are 404 ERROR; could be new as of this second, could be as old as her time in game, could be like reading water.
General health: it's all kind of simulated but she does appear to be in her seventies and that's closely reflected. Quite a lot of scars and sinewy muscle, not much sign of tooth decay, exertion tires her out sooner than it would a Youth, there's some arthritis, she skips leg day.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: At the time of her death she considered herself "half crippled" due to the aforementioned arthritis and general fatigue. Pain doesn't bother her quite like it would if she was flesh and bone but her joints can only take so much stress before she has to rest and reset them. Can't run far or climb all that well; she can do either in a short burst but then pays for it.
One of the scars on her chest is still pink and kinda looks like something burning hot ran her right through, going through a lung and emerging from her back. It's not an open passage but. you can see it's not that it actually healed.
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: tbh in velgarth the more you understand about a body the less power it takes to Heal it. Need isn't all that powerful considering but she's the best Healer in the setting and when she knows how can evaluate people in a pretty similar way to all this and should be able to sense a lot of what he's doing. Also it's a lot of work for a spirit to take even a rough facsimile of a human body in the spirit world but her form there is 'as real as bread', so it's been a headcanon that she made a long and thorough study of the body which helped advance medical knowledge at the time, before her world's apocalypse.
so! Her body is an almost perfect simulation of a live human one down to having cells and if she breathed the whole time an ordinary hands on examination wouldn't find anything amiss until you got to taking samples. It's deliberately, exhaustively crafted from spirit matter, like an elaborate sculpture. No cells are dying, nothing is doing gas exchange or metabolizing. If she drinks water it gets moved around in her 'blood' and she can sweat, but she just sweats water and passes anything else undigested. Her nervous system is present and made of the right-seeming cells with the right-seeming consistency that conducts electricity but while signals traveling through nerves seem mostly right there's a distinctly performative aspect and her brain is Very Weird and not the seat of her consciousness.
Also the whole thing where if you take off a bit of her it comes apart into spirit particles that then drift off.
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? tbh it sounds like a good time
Anything else I should know?: Need was assigned male at birth. I'm not actually interested in litigating those aspects of her body, I'll just say she's originally from a culture with different ideas about gender identity and is quite comfortable in her simulated skin.

Age (of physical body): 18
General health: Very fine! There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her. It's not like there's anything supernaturally well about her or anything, she just seems like a very normal healthy person.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: Nope.
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: Nope!
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? I'm okay with handwaving it!
Anything else I should know?: Though Olympia will - as seen above - clearly register as normal in absolutely every single way physically, her behaviour during the examination will be a little.. off. Nothing too extreme, but she will seem very surprised about incredibly normal things. For one, she'll tell Palamedes that she doesn't feel like she's ever done this before (and might seem a touch nervous about the examination beforehand because of it!) and if Palamedes will take a look at her blood at all, Olympia will ask about its colour and be super surprised that it's red. You know, like.. normal human blood.. and yet it's surprising to her.
She won't be able to explain her surprise if asked about it.

Age (of physical body): 24
General health: Perfect physical fitness if you ignore the fact that he has an extra half of a soul that's a demon
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: Nope
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: So, the source of Darin's superhuman abilities is the fact that he's superjuiced by the power of half of a demon god's soul melded into his own. He's not in danger of exploding or anything, but it's obvious his power isn't from training his body. He's like a suped up engine.
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? I'm good with anything you want to do!
Anything else I should know?: He has a huge, jagged scar going across his back from his right shoulder to his left hip. The depth of the scar would imply that the damage he took should have probably killed him.
cw: human experimentation
Character name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Age (of physical body): late 20s-ish
General health: Pretty great! He has the wear and tear of someone whose job is very physical (weird, for a priest), but he's in very good shape and is quite hardy.
Any physical disabilities or medical conditions?: well...see below
Anything about their physiology that would be considered unusual by someone with a knowledge of human anatomy?: Wolfwood is actually the product of medical experimentation designed to "enhance" him as an assassin. This means he has an accelerated healing factor, greater than human strength, and very acute senses. It also speeds up the aging process (his actual numerical age is 18). Possibly concerning!
Would you prefer to play out or hand wave the examination? I'm up for writing a starter if you're up for playing it out!
Anything else I should know?: he also has a number of scars all over, most of which appear to be pretty old and primarily gunshot wounds. There are a cluster of more recent-appearing gunshot wounds on his chest that definitely don't look like something that should be survivable.

I'll let you know when I've got things up!
