Way, way deeper than it seems like it should be! Should someone fall in, they'll be caught by the cacti but there's no clear bottom; it's just darkness and more cacti beneath. They'll be a foot or so below the average reachable armspan. It's entirely possible to take a bit of cactus with you, though, if you can find or make a long enough tool!
