For the first several attempts, the receptionist reacts as he has in the past. He just repeats his lines over and over again, and he starts bleeding from the nose.
However, if Alec's AU persists in hijacking him, after several hours, his next attempt will feel very different. He won't be able to regain control of the receptionist, and it's like someone else has snatched his toy. The receptionist's eyes go flat and empty and he'll grab a nearby implement, probably a pen, and aim to stab Alec's AU with it. He will fight back until the AU backs off, to the point that he may attempt to kill the AU with the resources at his disposal.
The next time anyone comes upon the receptionist, he's mostly back to normal, but his movements are a little off, and he won't be able to grab things appropriately for a few days, like he aims a little to the left to pick up a pen or paper. Then he will be completely back to normal.
