Activity Check Mechanics Update
Hello friends! We come to you today with an update we're making to activity checks. Since we've been doing this for a little while now, we've figured out some ways our AC system isn't serving us.
As we continue into our second year, and we're close to our player cap, we've decided to no longer offer strikes for AC. With the 3 month AC cycles, the strike mechanic that doesn't work for us since it allows lack of activity to stretch out for a long period of time (at least six months) before it is resolved.
Instead, we're offering retroactive hiatuses. The hiatus AC rules are roughly the same: you can take up to two months of hiatus in a cycle, and have a lowered AC requirement for that cycle. You can take up to two months of hiatus for AC in six months, and can only use the hiatus mechanic for up to two cycles in a row.
The hiatus activity rules have been updated, as the old rule didn't really make sense in practice:

We're open to your thoughts and feedback about this change, and if you have extenuating circumstances that make it difficult to make AC, we're always here to talk it through.

- Two months hiatus, your new requirement is: a top level and 10 comments, OR 20 comments
