If your character can talk to animals (and be understood and understand them as having names and communicating clearly, if not always in words) - do they have anything to say about the setting? Do they ride out the loops and get revived cyclically like the characters or is it always their first cycle? Do they have their own limited pool of stock phrases?
Animals see Daine as The Greatest Most Dominant Animal, almost always defer to her, and generally try to act in her interests over their own, but some do defy her or keep secrets from her, especially if they're affiliated with some higher power. (she's from a setting where crows are sworn to a trickster god, are as smart as humans, and can take human form but she does not know this; they are happy to help her in crow ways and leave it at that)
