[emerald nods along, and there's part of her that is calmed by this idea. the idea that she's in the same boat as everybody else, that she's not being singled out. she has no idea why that's a comfort, but she doesn't know enough about what's going on inside her own head to question it, either. it's... a weird sort of conflict to have to live with. but she's trying very hard to avoid thinking about it too much, and the pie is helping.]
