Character name: Permissions:Here. General impressions of your character: Jaune is an tall blond bearded man with a messy haircut and a slightly too affable and eager demeanour. He wants to help and he wants to be friendly, but sometimes, it's just a little much. His style is a mix of decorative pieces (fringed jacket, embroidered shirts) and practical working gear (rugged blue jeans, sturdy boots) in a colour scheme dominated by white and gold, with hints of red here and there. CR you're interested in: Any and all! Particularly, I'm looking for people willing to befriend this weird, awkward man and enable his efforts at being helpful; people Jaune can see as equals in his quest to protect the town; people Jaune can dedicate himself to as a protector, and; people who are baffled and irritated by his persistent heroism. CR you're not interested in: None.
General ideas or plans for the month: Jaune is hitting the ground running by deciding he should self-appoint as a town defender and errand boy. Not only can he be found helping out his fellow new town visitors, but he can be spotted assisting the town's original inhabitants as much as it's feasible for him to do so. Feel free to assume you've seen Jaune clearing tables at the diner, tidying up around the hotel, collecting glasses at the bar, and straightening shelves at the general store.
When not completing pointless errands for the locals, Jaune is available for both practical and pointless errands for everyone else. If your character wants a task done and it's not overtly sinister, there's a high chance Jaune will agree to help as far as they'll let him. In fact, if he spots anyone doing anything, it might be hard to persuade him not to try to pitch in.
This desire to help only escalates when actual peril is involved, as covered below...
Event ideas: ATTACK-TI: After an initial first bad experience with the cholla cacti (which will produce cholla flowers related to Jaune usable for the Superbloom prompts), Jaune will be patrolling the town and the nearby desert on a periodic basis looking for people in trouble. He will come armed with advice, some rope, bandages made of torn cloth, and a can-do attitude. Up for a rescue thread for Jaune where he is rescued (one person) or rescue threads where Jaune helps others (open to all).
GHOSTLY HAPPENINGS: Having nothing tangible to deal with here will make Jaune very squirrelly. Avoiding the haunting will be one of the background reasons Jaune is throwing himself into his 'work' so hard (although he still really be doing all of this anyway).
SUPERBLOOM: I am open to any and all flower effects, with a few specific ideas as starters.
Saguaro flowers: Jaune's desire for intimacy will be diffuse and difficult for him to articulate, except that he knows he desperately wants something from people. He will be extraordinarily and pathetically clingy towards anyone who lets him get close, but for whatever reason, will be reluctant to let himself make any kind of contact. Does your character want to push him away, or draw him in closer?
Wildflowers: If his eagerness to please was bad before, it's much, much worse now. Jaune will work himself into a tizzy attempting to be productive, engaging in tasks like perfectly straightening all the cutlery in the hotel dining room, attempting to sweep the courtyard clean of sand, and other tasks straight out of a fairy tale challenge. Ignore the wild-eyed busy-worker, or try to keep him from passing out in the middle of town?
Cholla flowers: Jaune will be a victim of his own cacti-drainage blooms, so for a window of time he will suffer from the effects of vulnerability and emotional fragility. Other characters are free to catch a whiff of his flowers and pursue him. Comfort him through his weird fit of yearning, attempt to ignore his wistful staring into the middle distance, or chase after this busted ass man?
