Player Plot: The Skelebrawl

Hey folks! Who wants to fight the GOD OF NECROMANCY and ALL HIS SKELETONS in a big spooky Halloween bash???

THE SETUP

On the final night of the cycle - October 31st, though characters don't know the date ICly - John's double will arrive at the graveyard, where most characters are sheltering from the flood. Palamedes and Camilla will clock him as a double, argue with him, realize what they're up against... and start fighting for their lives.

This fight takes place in a crowded location, so it'll be pretty public! If your character would like to jump to Cam and Pal's rescue: hell yeah. John's double will raise all nearby skeletons in the graveyard to keep bystanders off his back. Buckle up for a horde of the undead, kids.

THE BOSS BATTLE

The central John-Cam-Pal thread needs to stay pretty linear, but doubleJohn can respond to attempted threadjacks if you try to heckle him or get a hit in. (He can regenerate, so please feel free.) Mostly, he'll sic skeletons and flesh monsters on anyone who tries to intervene - even if your character is a bigger threat, he'll stay focused on Cam and Pal.

Feel free to make your own toplevel dodging monsters, needing rescue, etc, and tag amongst yourselves! This is a game of "survive the horde and keep everyone alive until the timer runs out." You can escape the horde by fleeing deeper into the graveyard. Otherwise, we intend for the fight to continue until the cycle resets at midnight.

THE LOGISTICS

If you'd like to join, comment here telling me what your character brings to the fight!

The log is already posted HERE, so we can forward-date threads in a leisurely manner. (I'm traveling all next week, I'm so sorry abt my timing.)

Anyone disinterested can assume they're on the other side of the graveyard, or clinging to the upper floors of the Staywell, and safely ignore this. Cheers!

Two part plotting opportunity:

Alec doesn't have much to contribute to the overall fight, except for one Hail Mary pulse of his power that will temporarily discombobulate John's double and give an opening for someone else to get a hit in. I'm looking for someone for Alec to team up with for this, preferably someone who can bring a big hammer down - Alec is willing to do something this wildly risky and likely to end in his doom, but he'd prefer it have a point.

Following this, if it happens, Alec will pass out. If anyone is interested in dragging him to temporary safety, that would be neat.

Dax will already be trying to juggle keeping people out of the way with a particular grip on Alec and Keiichi’s collars —- she can definitely drag him away! (And will give him the preemptive leash loosening if he asks for it.)

OH I LOVE THAT...Alec should definitely ask her permission to go off, that would be a tragiwonderful beat. And yes, if she could save his unconscious self he would have a lot of Thoughts about that when he wakes up next cycle.

I have a few notes to add for anyone that wants something to do in this mess:

Aizawa's going to clock the danger and make moves to hit Jod with his Quirk, Erasure. For the canon blind, he's able to Erase people's powers as long as he has them in his line of sight. At his canon point (where he lost an eye doing exactly what he's planning to do here) his scale of effect is more unstable and not nearly as strong, but if he wants any effect then the same limits are in play:

He can't blink.

It's not going to have a major impact on Jod in the long haul, but support will be appreciated. He's on a prosthetic leg as well, which impacts his mobility, and he's going to have a very unfortunate case of eyestrain and dry eye as a best case scenario here. I'm willing to go ham as much as people wish.

Thanks. It tends to put a target on him bc when enemies realize what's up they try to take him out of the picture pretty violently.

While Flynn has tragically lost all of his impeccable sword skills (rip), he will be trying to talk doubleJohn down and when Pal is particularly threatened, will def make an attempt on him that will almost certainly be rebuffed! When that doesn't work, he'll snap back to his senses and realize where he's most needed: healing!

Flynn's a long-range combat healer, meaning he can cast spells in the middle of a fight and aim them basically anywhere, so if you want someone to get hit and then get right back up again with a little holy light magic, Flynn's your man!! Would love to have him dramatically rescue someone from the edge of death only for them all to bite it at the end of the cycle anyway, oops.

tl;dr plotting opportunities are "yank Flynn away from the fray after he does something dumb" and "get healed idiot"

Cam will almost certainly need a long range heal to keep her fighting until they all fall into a hellhole! Would LOVE that tbh.

And it gives them things to talk about next cycle, since that kind of magic is ...I mean, Pal can do SOME healing, but aside from John, no one really DOES that in TLT-verse. So not only will she not have memories of it, she won't have a lot of latent migraine about it. We like when cells decay back at home! I feel like Cam as what is most definitely a support class character (sure, a tank, but if she HAD magic) would be intrigued.

And obv, just thankful and will want to make sure he knows that.

wonderful!! I was thinking about putting a TL up with healing / dragging people who need it to safety, feel free to tag that OR HONESTLY if there's a point in the thread where Cam might need healing ping me and I can jump briefly in with a spell and maybe use that as an opportunity for Flynn to yell at doublejod?? I'm easy tbh. Feel free to also just assume at random points in the thread that he's healed her as needed, he's going to be sticking VERY close to the main fight out of concern.

oh good, I hadn't seen this reply so I almost pinged you to be like "should I just like...link the TL if she needs a healing boost" lol. Which -- tbf it sounds like you would've been okay with, but if things get dicey I may have you jump in directly! There's a lot of STUFF going on, lol.
