OOC announcements
Welcome to month 2! We're near the midpoint of the cycle and oh boy is it cold out there.
There will be no event post on the main comm. Instead, make your own logs to include these prompts, and any other prompts you want to add. There will be a mini-event log mid-month.
Use the happenings form to report on what your character’s been up to! Did you break something? Did you get into a screaming match in the middle of town? Spill the tea! Everyone’s thirsty for gossip.
Post any bulletins to the bulletin board.

New this month
At the Staywell
The dining hall features one long table and the same meals every day: a nice, continental breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and a roast for dinner.Someone’s been doing some decorating! The manor is covered poinsettias and mistletoe, and watch out! The mistletoe does make you feel compelled to give someone a little smooch. You’re not trapped, exactly, but the urge is intense!
In all of your closets is snow gear: big, warm coats, gloves, hats, and boots, all in your style, as long as your style is some mix of renaissance and western.
The General Store
The General Store has its usual, new selection of renaissance knick-knacks, and has a new display: snow globes! They’re ostensibly 100 of whatever the currency here is, but as usual, you don’t actually have to pay anything.This month, the walkie talkies are a little different. You can find them now in your favorite colors!
Around town
The tavern’s special for the month: stollen! Full of dried fruits and nuts and marzipan.The pub has a few new offerings on display: hot toddies, hot apple cider, and mulled wine. The apple cider can be made with or without alcohol, the other two are quite alcoholic, so be careful.
When you visit the few other locations in town, you’ll find the employees friendly and welcoming, although they may say some strange things, in addition to the handful of phrases they usually say:
The receptionist: “It’s really coming down out there! I'll keep the fire nice and built up for you."
Owner of the General Store: “Y’never know what you’ll see in a snow globe.” And then he sighs a wistful sigh, the same way every time he says this.
The bartender: Looks like she’s in a good mood for once. She might even—smile?? It’s a little off putting.
The waiter: Does not look happy at all. There’s a fear in his eyes as he says, “happy holidays!”
The gravedigger: If you make it into the graveyard, you can find her sitting contemplatively on the edge of the well.
The sheriff: Damp, moist, pathetic. He whines a little when spoken to. He may even let you pet him.
The Weather
It’s snowing! A lot. Every morning the snow falls gently, covering the world in white. It drifts in soft powdery hills against doors, windows, mounding on cobblestones and blanketing the town and the forest alike. Even though the woods are covered in snow, the deciduous trees are still green-leafed and full of life. Just, you know…cold. Weird!
Each morning, the windows in the Staywell are covered in fanciful frosted sweeps and swirls. Some of them coil around to form eyes. Some of the eyes follow your morning movements, but it's probably fine.
The snow gets thicker and wetter over the course of the month, and no one appears to be shoveling it. If you want out of the manor, you'll have to make your own paths, it seems.
Snow Days
Content warnings: excessive snowy fun, hypothermia, possibility of freezing to death
The snow begins as a light dusting, and quickly settles a bright, white blanket over the quaint little town. All characters find snow gear in their closets: coats, gloves, boots, hats, scarves, everything you need for a fun day playing in the snow! Just outside the lobby is a line of old-fashioned wooden sleds, and the hill from the Staywell down to the rest of town is perfect for sledding. In fact, you can barely resist, if you even try: you get on a sled and zoom down the hill, your laughter loud and bright like a child.
It’s hard not to partake in all the snowday activities: snowball fights, snow angels, building snow forts. You might even want to make a snowman, only… was that snowman there before? Who built it?
If you come closer to a snowman, you might notice that it looks a bit like a friend of yours: notable features are there, maybe its wearing their favorite necklace or coat, or holding a favorite weapon or purse. In fact, when you look into its eyes, it’s as if you can see your friend in here: freezing, terrified.
To get someone out of the snow, you need to warm them up. Wrap yourself around the snowman, find warm water and pour it over the snow, press a warm mug of hot chocolate into their snow-covered hands.
Anyone can become a snowman: you just have to have a little too much fun in the snow! The longer you’re out there, the more abominable you become, frost on your eyelashes, snow coating your shoulders, your legs, until you can’t move, your body packed tight with snow. The process can be halted with the same: warmth from someone else.
Better be sure not to stray too far away while playing: being encased in snow for more than 12 hours can lead to a painful, drawn out, frozen death.

What a warm, cozy month this seems to be so far. Between the snow and the hot cocoa and the cheerful decor, it seems like maybe everything's… fine? Good, even?
Don't be too sure.
When the sun sets, leaving the town dark and hushed, you might hear something skittering around outside, in the halls of the Staywell, under your table at the tavern. Tiny little ankle-high creatures, furry and large-eared, dart here and there, followed by high-pitched squeaky laughter. They are so, so cute.
They're also out to make your life hell.
They'll slam doors and knock over glasses, laughing and shrieking. They'll hide in the rafters and the trees and swoop down, cackling, to steal the food off your plate or your hat off your head. Horrible red eyes peer through your windows while they scratch their claws to make horrible sounds. These fuzzy little critters are hard to see and harder to catch and they are here to cause chaos. You might wake up to find rotten potatoes in your bed or in your shoes, or eggs smashed all over your floor. They're everywhere, every night: under your bed, in your closet, in the woods, in the buildings.
All of that is bad, and annoying— but they're not only out to annoy you. These little guys have very sharp bits.
They'll swipe at you with razor-sharp claws, drawing more blood than they should be able to, and the moment you're bleeding you'll get swarmed by dozens of the little things. They'll swarm like tiny furry pirahnas, chomping at you with tiny serrated teeth. Once they latch on they are very hard to get rid of. You may find yourself attacked by five, ten, even thirteen at once, and your only chance of escape before they tear you apart is to distract them somehow, make them interested in something else.
Maybe carry some food around in your pockets, just in case.

The aurora flexes and moves, and from it comes voices, a chorus of voices, some unintelligible and some very clear. You hear voices calling out for help, voices telling you things, voices letting you in.
You'll also hear voices that you recognize. You may not know the name, but in that moment you know that voice: someone saying your name, someone saying something important, echoes of memories you've forgotten, memories that are so, so important to you.

General ideas or plans for the month:
Nothing too specific, but Min-Gi does not enjoy the cold and while he will have fun with the snow in moderation most of the time he'll probably be hanging out where he can be warm. Or, alternatively, warming up after the snow!
He is also going to be taking advantage of the gradually appearing books. He will complain about them, but that won't stop him reading them. In public he'll for the most part be sticking with the terrible self-help books, but that doesn't mean he won't be tempted by reading one of the romances by the warm fire in the parlour occasionally. Please someone catch him with Yeti Tracks on the Dusty Trail.
Event ideas:
Platonic mistletoe kisses and snow day games would be fun! Someone teach this boy to loosen up a bit.
Min-Gi will be cautious of the creatures even before it becomes obvious there are worse things they're capable of than their pranks, but that doesn't mean he won't have problems with them at some point. He will also be carrying distractions if anyone else needs rescuing from them!
He will be grabbing one of the walkie talkies from the general store, though I have no specific ideas here yet.

General ideas or plans for the month: Generally, I plan on following up with loose CR threads that I've left so we keep things neat and tidy. Aizawa has his ongoing project with Dax and a few young people that he's practically adopted, so there's plenty to keep him busy.
Event ideas: This is where his projects come in, because he's going to be making headway on his plans with Dax. He's going to be having problems with hearing voices, and I'm really interested in seeing where this goes.
Otherwise, I'm open for plotting. He's a big softie for people he cares about.

General ideas or plans for the month:
Darlington will again be spending lots of time at the manor, probably sitting by the fire working on his
reportsnotes or reading the least worst of the books that have apparently started appearing now. I'm also hilariously down for getting him involved in mistletoe awkwardness, with or without an actual smooch at the end.He might also venture out into the snow for some practice with his horrible accordion sword he got last month--not that he knows he knows anything about swords, but it feels right. There will probably be a lot of noise in the process, because...accordion sword.
Based on how his Sword Quest with Pal goes, I'm hoping he might get a clue that there's something...not quite right about him now, so folks may also encounter him having Demon Practice Time in the woods too. If you suddenly see that he's taller and has horns and golden eyes for a minute, it's fine. It's totally fine. Don't run away.
I just got hit with a great winter-related memory regain idea for him, as well; depending on when I'm allowed to cash in the memory points from the event prompt last month, that may be happening this month, too? We'll see!
Event ideas:
Snowmen: Given how much time Darlington might be spending outside, it feels inevitable that he'll either become a snowman or be a good one to rescue other snowed-in people (maybe both?). He'll also be up for less-intense snowy fun--come get him involved in a snowball fight or something, it'll be good.
LADS: Waiting on Word of Mods about how the lads react to intimidation, but regardless of outcome, I kind of want Darlington to demon out on a pack of them at some point. He also seems a good target for their more minor pranks, so at the very least, he'll have a month of low-level annoyances to look forward to.
Aurora Borealis: I wish Danny would have been around for the walkie plot! Even without one, he'll be hearing things from the aurora. Still brainstorming what, but there's a lot he could glean from this.

General ideas or plans for the month: Dax has been working on the walkies. She's really doubling down, both in hopes of proving Aizawa wrong about using them to talk to ghosts, and in hopes of getting a better emergency communication system before everything goes to shit again.
She is trying to recruit people to come "help" -- aka, she really needs someone to come hang out to talk to Aizawa while she works on the walkies in his room because he is the wooooorst project partner ever and she could use an assist in the social aspect. Basil and I can handle 3 round robin threads total about this so call dibs and we'll work out how Dax loops them into it!!
Otherwise, I'll be putting up an open for anyone to talk to her about her current hyperfixation who might want their character to be at all involved with the tech project going on! You'll be able to find her just about anywhere working on them, approach her about it or maybe she'll ask you to help her test something.

General ideas or plans for the month: I kinda flubbed November (granted, two weeks of it pretty much I was sick as hell), so a lot of my plans for Cam last month were entirely kiboshed. I'm trying my best to scramble back and with it, dropping most things that aren't plot-essential. I'm open to keep any particular thread open, if we have something we discussed -- as long as you're open to slow tags! If you'd like to talk over what happened or just sketch out the CR plz feel free to comment here or catch me on plurk! (Super especially goes for anyone she was either: a) in the Skelebattle with, esp Flynn, Alec, or Aizawa, who she would have gone to pains to check on, or b) going to talk in the baths with! even if it was awk at first they'd probably come out of it feeling closer: that was my intent anyway!)
So with that said, she's somewhat less quiet and distant with the aid of random bath-tervention and some distance from ...you know, the whole torture thing. Still a little quieter and less affectionate than she would have been when she first arrived but notably less than in the first weeks after waking back up.
I don't have any big plans, except for her helping where needed with Aizawa and Dax's walkie project, having some feels, playing hockey with some gremlins eventually. She'll be around! OH. She does want to start that fight club thing! That'll be on The Bulletin Board.

yes, she totally will be playing in the snow! even though it will probably be even colder for someone from the Sixth than someone who didn't grow up in a pretty controlled habitat.
she will likely not want to leave Palamedes alone in it, but (if you're not Becca) i'm sure we can jury-rig some reason why one of them isn't there when the other turns into a snowman or has to rescue someone, so hit me up if you'd like to save her (or be saved).
her stubbornness and tendency to ignore physical discomfort getting in her own way amuses me a bit, so i'm happy to have her rescued! but! it also plays to my plans to have her warm someone up. i don't want to just ignore that she's actively trying to deal with trauma around touch and being held still, so it's good for her to be able to redirect contact toward helping people, besides what i'm just going to say is a VERY BRIEF lesson in "maybe go inside when you're cold" (and also, a reminder that hey, people get to help you and are here to do that and that is, in fact, a necessity of living here).
②THE LADS
probably going to spend the least time on these guys mostly because i ...idk, i like the other two plots a lot? but they will drive Camilla BATTY both bc they're messing up her organization and also...hey OW!
at some point she will probably crack and start just impaling them with her sword or chucking them away like the Firey heads in Labyrinth. not reaaaally thinking i want to play out "and then she was going to bleed to death" for the holidays but eh. if anyone has ideas, pitch 'em!
③BOREALIS
Cam is kiiinda obsessed with all the NATURE here and i've already established that she really likes the totally unfamiliar stars, so she's definitely going to be out to see this, especially if the Lads are driving her crazy.
She will definitely have a walkie, since she's helping Aizawa and Dax. Her message is ...sad and weird? She's going to overanalyze it: you are welcome to come do that with her, or just compare voices.
OTHER THINGS
Mistletoe: I guiltily love a mistletoe plot, so I'm open to it. Mostly to close existing CR, but I'll take pitches. Cam doesn't kiss a lot of people -- but it's not something she's against, especially in Well where trauma notwithstanding, she doesn't remember a lot of the reasons she restrained contact before. But it's just not something she THINKS of doing.
So my takes on this are that either she gets this impulse with the strong impression that she should be a bit more forthcoming to the people she cares about OR she realizes very fast that it's Well, and be incredibly snarky about it.
(She won't be affronted by someone she knows WANTING to kiss her, also, if they ask and...don't make it incredibly weird. She WILL punch you if you try to touch/kiss her without asking, though. Which. I mean. If you really want that, talk to me? I guess?)

General ideas or plans for the month: I want to embarrass Yuri in various ways this month. He's been hurt, sure, but he's still his confident, cocky self, and it's time to break that with a little embarrassment!

Event ideas:
Mistletoe: Awkward kisses, please. He will hate this so much, but the compulsion will force his hand. It'll be so awkward. He will blush. Please help me do this.
Snow: Snowball fights! Snow pranks! He'll get stuck at least once and will be his usual hero self and try and help people who are trapped.
Lads: Not a fan! They're going to harass him and nip at his ankles, particularly since he'll be doing some cooking this month, they'll swarm the tavern kitchen where he's taken residence. Protect the food he's making?? Maybe there could be some shenanigans in there of trying to keep them out of his cooking.
Borealis: There's a thing in Vesperia where people love to yell Yuri's name, so he'll hear his own face several times, from LeBlanc (the knight who's been arresting him since he was old enough to be arrested), from Estelle, from Karol, from Hanks. It'll be a bit friends and family for him. May also do some others with one liners that I can't remember right now.

General ideas or plans for the month:
He's settling into the cold! I think something distantly feels familiar about it, but not in a way he could ever put his finger on. He's going to be taking up Sword Lessons with Flynn, but at the moment he's not feeling terrible about things. You can find him at his usual haunts, but he'll be especially happy about the pub having warm alcoholic drinks, and the bathhouse is so good after running around in the snow.
He's also reading a bunch of the books Min-Gi's been finding, and he will have an important bulletin board question about that very, very, very soon.
Event ideas:
SNOW DAYS: lmao he's so in danger. He's always looking for fun things to do and will 100% be running around in the snow. Pelting people with snowballs? Yes. Snow Angels? Sure! Sledding? He's the first one there. Making a snowman that isn't a literal person? You know it.
The worst part is that starting to turn into a snow person isn't going to actually stop him. I mean, it might for a day or so, but the temptation is too strong, so he'll just, you know. Try to be careful....
THE LADS: Oh he is avoiding these little dudes like the plague. He is having none of this, thank you. If he sees one he is turning and heading in the other direction, fuck these guys.
BOREALIS: He is going to be fascinated by the sky lighting up with colors in wavelengths, but the sounds he hears aren't going to be the happiest. I'm undecided exactly what he'll hear but it's definitely going to be a montage of some kind that might make him cry before he fully realizes what's happening.
Thankfully, he'll have a different thing to think about shortly after to keep the migraines away! The mysterious message about Carla. Later in the month he's definitely going to ask around about this, see if that sounds familiar to anybody.

General ideas or plans for the month:
- General vibes: Pal is having a time!! He is struggling with his complicated feelings about John, and very slowly realizing he has (a very different kind of) complicated feelings about Dax! Also, after spending a month mostly focused on the new surroundings, he’s back to doubling down on trying to contact what he assumes to be the spirits of former Wellstone residents, perhaps including the NPC. More on that in the event ideas!!
- Memory regains: Pal is regaining a memory of Canaan House chock full of interesting details! He’ll remember exploring the Sixth House laboratory with Gideon and Harrow, which will give him the sense that he and Cam worked closely with the Ninth. That laboratory also included some complex theorems for attaching souls to dead bodies that will seem very relevant to Well!! I’m not planning on having him do anything specific with this new knowledge immediately, but hmu if you want Pal to chat with your character about it (handwaved or played out!)
Oh, he will also learn that necromancers can kinda-sorta, in a very limited fashion, read people’s minds?
- Mistletoe: Yes plz. As always, Pal is going to take a very scientific approach to this and try to figure out how close you have to be for the compulsion to start, and what sorts of contact dispel it. As such, all kisses will be fairly chaste, but there will be lots of opportunities for them. if you’re lucky he might admit to you that oh, beeteedubs, I’ve never been kissed before.
- Walkies: While Pal continues to be cheerfully useless when it comes to the walkie talkie network project, he is close enough to both Dax and Aizawa that he is familiar with what they have going on and thinks it’s super cool. Along with hanging out and watching them do stuff, he is probably waxing euphoric to people about how smart

Snow: Have you ever watched an adult see snow for the first time? This will be Pal in a nutshell! Undoubtably dressed in every single layer available to him and resembling a bowling ball with limbs, he is going to be full of childlike delight and obsessed with playing in the snow. Because I love making him a damsel in distress, and because he is bad at paying attention to bodily needs, opportunities abound for rescuing him.
Lads: Pal is very much Team Ill Advised Scientific Investigations Of The Lads. I don’t have any specific thoughts beyond that, except that hilarity should ensue.
Aurora: YES I WANT IT. Two separate, but combinable, things I want to do here:
- Memory voices: Look, The Locked Tomb is chock full of delicious one-liners, and I want to use this prompt to make Pal hear as many as possible. Possibilities include: Kill us both, shame on God; Palamedes, what do you find sexy?/Those little outfits nurses wear; I wouldn’t have left you alone for 27 hours/Of course not, I’d be dead; I cannot imagine the type of mind that would hold on to that edge, and keep holding./I do, and it scares me; The Master Warden found the idea of dying inconvenient. JUST TO NAME A FEW.
- Walkie talkie voices: Pal and Cecelia are going to be doing a seance that will be interrupted by walkie voices!!! I am planning to also have a “setting up for the seance” open prompt that I’d love to use for any and all aurora or ghost-related conversations.

- dax and pal post move-in and post cam kiss. mistletoe. "for science." so weird that the compulsion isn't fading and somehow is getting more intense??
- 'attaching souls to dead bodies'..... TBQH... i think in whatever this adds to their handwaved arguments dax would 'slip' without meaning to. when a trill has its symbiont removed to go to a new host, the newly unjoined trill is considered "empty" before they're dead. dax wouldn't be able to justify or explain this past 'they host's memories are living on in the symbiont at that point, they're in dax, their body is empty [even before they die].' for the first time she'd probably actually shut the conversation down and say she doesn't remember enough to discuss it. he might obviously get a successful crack here. (have no fear, she'll plaster it over after a few hours and he'll be back to square one, but he'd Know)
- dax would be SO INTRIGUED by the mind-reading and would immediately try to get him to read her mind when he tells her about it. the hosts try to reach out to him but he can't interpret dax so pal just gets a barrage of impressionistic color blooms. ezri tries SO hard to focus to make it work. would love to play into the telepathic nature of the symbionts???
- whatever we thread we can totally put voice liners as a background thing. pal should have to explain 'those little outfits' to dax i think

General ideas or plans for the month: Loki's going to be really struck by how he's not really that bothered by the cold compared to most everyone else, tbh. Not enough to not enjoy himself outside but still, what's that about??? Weird.
Also he's read the stupid yeti book and is reveling in how so-bad-it's-good it is while also teasing Min-Gi about it.
Event ideas:
Mistletoe: This is me opting in for smooches. Loki will be more flustered the sweeter they are but I'm personally up for whatever on this front so long as we're on the same page ooc. :>
Snow Days: Loki is definitely going to be spending a lot of time outside and will need to be rescued cuddle-style. As much as he's probably going to enjoy sledding a lot, he's probably going to try very hard not to do it when anyone's around, since he's probably way too tall for that to not look ridiculous. Otherwise, I think he just finds the cold and snow really meditative and soothing? Which makes it real easy to turn into a snowman accidentally.
The Lads: Loki is going to have three phases with the Lads. First, he's going to be startled and irritated. Second, he's going to recognize kindred trickster spirits in them and want to join in on the fun. Third, he's going to get fucking bitten and instead choose to punt any that get too close. Probably this will be another case of him needing rescue, and possibly for someone to help him get his sword back after his attempt to use it in self-defense just ends with them stealing it. B(
Borealis: Like many of the walkie talkie messages, Loki's is upsetting. He's reminded of Frigga and keeps getting a headache wondering if she was indeed his mother and not just some kind of mentor/teacher. Kinda makes how cool the sky looks just really sad, actually.

General ideas or plans for the month:
-Sword! Estelle got a lovely gold sword that she's now remembered how to use, so she'll be doing sword practice. Note that if your character is Very Good at sword (or other things), Estelle will also delight in watching and complimenting them.
-Books! She is a voracious reader and will jam all these books into her brain no matter how bad they are. She will even seek them out. Go book hunting with her? Have commentary sessions?
-Do you want your character to be excitedly told by Estelle that she managed to seduce John Gaius? Because she really wants to tell everyone. (He kissed her on the hand.)
-So Palamedes is finally taking one for the team and explaining boning as a euphemism to Estelle. Consequently she's going to be constantly overthinking whether or not what someone says is a sex thing. She will be frequently trying to explain that she doesn't mean anything euphemistically. All fine and normal stuff.
Event ideas:
Mistletoe: Up for friendly smooches! She may interpret them as seduction. She's had one with John so far.
Snow Days: She will! Enjoy the snow! And will be at risk of staying out too long and freezing. So I'm open for cute snow activities as well as Estelle being either a rescuer or in need of rescue.
Lads: DON'T HURT THEM THEY'RE TOO CUTE or so she'll be upset about!! Even as they continue being little monsters she will probably keep trying to make friends with them :( Her mysterious powers will make them even angrier if she accidentally uses them on the lads.
Borealis: She will love to go out and stare at the lights - she canonically enjoys taking nighttime walks and looking up at the stars when she can't sleep. For voices, there will be choruses of friends calling her name in increasingly frantic/desperate tones. A few other lines for consideration, may come up with more:
-"There are always risks involved if you're trying to actually do something."
-"Worrying about getting what you want without anyone getting hurt? You've had an easy life."
