HANDWAVED CR MEME

Back by popular demand: handwaved CR! What is your character up to outside of the horrors? How do they persist? Use this form to brainstorm how you're characters have been vibing on the day-to-day!
There are some suggested questions, answer as many or as few as you'd like:
- What do they usually wear? Western or renaissance fair? Lots of fringe or puffy pants? All black or all sequined?
- Where they hang out: Are they a parlor guy or a diner girlie? What gendered changing room do they gravitate toward at the baths?
- Activities they often do: Do they wake at the crack of dawn to do a cute little run? Do they prefer to inventory the general store on the daily?
- What they're like at mealtimes: Can you talk to them before they've had their coffee? Do they make horrific food based choices?
- Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Self-help, or romance? Do they dogear the sex parts?
- What do they do at night? Do they all hang out in the parlor? Do their drink the night away? Do they lurk in the shadows?
- Is there anything unusual about them? Do they sleep somewhere other than the Staywell? Do they have a particular scent or appearance that might be off-putting? Are they just way too friendly?
- What their current vibe is: Are they happy? Sad? Are you tormenting them with an awful, drawn out character arc?
- What CR are you interested in: Low-key pals? Sparring buddies? Do they have a passive aggressive post-it based relationship?

Character Name: Cecelia Ardenbury
What do they usually wear? Fancy-yet-practical, more fancy leaning in earlier cycle, more practical in later cycle
Where they hang out: The Archive, lobby, and garden-y areas are her current frequents, with sightings early early dawn in the dining hall and lobby
Activities they often do: ~*research*~ and journaling, people/NPC watching...Diluc is helping her learn some drink mixing and knife throwing, Yuri is helping her learn some cookery
What they're like at mealtimes: Prim and proper and polite and will not talk with her mouth full...and also probably only speaks when spoken to
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Yes........all of them..........but she will warn those who want to try them themselves bc they're wretched.
What do they do at night? dinner dates and evenings with Darin
Is there anything unusual about them? They make scowly faces at the bulletin board
What their current vibe is: Stressed researcher, but still keeping it together
What CR are you interested in: all sorts except romantic obvs

Character Name: Yuri Lowell
What do they usually wear? lots of black and fringe and things that shouldn't work but just kind of do on him. He usually wears his hair down or in a braid
Where they hang out: The kitchen of the diner, wandering in the forest, the roof of the Staywell, the parlor
Activities they often do: Cooking & baking, if you stop by the kitchen you'll often find him cooking away, and on the counter of the diner or the reception desk. He's happy to have people help or teach them what he knows. He's working on perfecting bread. It's good to have a goal. He also trains quite a bit. He's still terrible with a sword, but he's excellent at hand to hand.
What they're like at mealtimes: Usually eating with Flynn, they have a standing breakfast date in the late morning. He'll happily join in with other people, particularly for lunch when Flynn is usually out doing other stuff. He eats a lot of sweet things, but also spicy things, and will generally get other people food whether they ask or not.
What do they do at night? He's a bit of a nightowl and will hang out on the roof of the Staywell if it isn't raining, or will wander the forest
What their current vibe is: Surprisingly happy, very in love, just kind vibing and having a nice time in spite of the Horrors (and ignoring the Horrors and the Trauma pretty specifically, almost time to ruin it for him)
What CR are you interested in: Deepening relationships he already has, people who get deep quickly, people who want to get out of here who can encourage him to try harder to get there, people who are unsure of their identity and want to explore that together, people who are down to help him unpack his trauma
Anything else? Yuri is pretty low-key on the surface, and pushes a lot down, and I'd love to bring more of that to the surface. He's great with characters who are Very: very earnest or very annoying or very angry, it makes his role as the straight man more fun to play and play off of.

Character Name: Flynn Scifo
What do they usually wear? Largely medieval-style tunics & linen shirts, but with a lot of jeans. He loves jeans. He is almost always wearing blue jeans & cowboy boots. Also, when it's sunny, a cowboy hat. Also usually wearing some cleaned-up salvaged bits of armor.
Where they hang out: Around the Staywell quite a bit! He can be found in the courtyard / garden area training, and also spends a lot of time out at the tavern and in the woods!
Activities they often do: Every morning he runs and tries to bully folks into running with him (sound off if you're in running club!), then training with his sword in the courtyard (and teaching anyone who wants to learn), lots of note-taking about NPCs and inventory, hanging out with Yuri while he cooks things, reading books in his room with Yuri or the parlor, cleaning. Despite a robust invisible cleaning staff he definitely sweeps the entry hall and walkway outside.
What they're like at mealtimes: So chatty. SO chatty, please talk to him. He'll invite folks to sit with him if they look like they want company, or sit down next to you like a friendly dog. He loves to ask questions about food and books and memories.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? He does read the books, every single one for lack of anything better to do, and would love to talk about them to anyone else who's read them. Very conscientious about sharing, leaves them in the parlor with sticky notes saying whether or not he recommends reading them.
What do they do at night? Depends! He hangs out with Yuri some nights but most of the time can be found in the parlor or wherever a plurality of people are, being social and hanging out. Please teach him some games, he is so competitive, he needs them to live.
Is there anything unusual about them? Usually he is with Yuri and also almost always carrying a sword.
What their current vibe is: You know those scenes in media where the protag gets a partner and promptly radiates sunshine and little birds everywhere? That's Flynn at the moment. Are things tense and weird and bad? always! but he has a boyfriend and that boyfriend is his best friend and he's THRILLED about it, so he's honestly pretty sickeningly happy.
What CR are you interested in:
-teach Flynn how to play some games!
-weird CR! He has a deeply weird thing going on with John and it's complicating his CR with a bunch of folks and I LOVE it, if anyone is like morally grey and strange, hit me up
-folks who have a Thing about authority and power. delightful
-buddies who can get him to lighten up and have a good time

Character Name: Astarion
What do they usually wear? mostly renaissance clothes: lots of frills and ruffles and structured fabrics, whites and purples and blacks
Where they hang out: the bar, the parlor, the baths, the forest
Activities they often do: drinking wine, luxuriating in the baths, reading the awful books, talking loudly about how awful the books are, getting into pointless fights on the bulletin board, hunting in the forest
What they're like at mealtimes: he doesn't eat food, so he doesn't usually show up to meals
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Yes, all of them, but he rereads the romances for something to do. He isn't the best at sharing and stole at least one of them
What do they do at night? hunting in the forest, or going to a bite buddy. You may find bloodless animals near the paths. Tasty little squirrel snacks
Is there anything unusual about them? he is a vampire and technically dead. No heartbeat, no breathing unless he wants to, very cold and pale.
What their current vibe is: bad! He turned into a mindflayer and was burned to death, and he's dealing with having died again and come back again, and also he just learned about some of his trauma and he's dealing with learning about that all over again. Dealing with being a monster on two planes. Tough stuff! He's drinking a lot to cope with it.
What CR are you interested in: everything! he's very good for negative cr since he's very judgy and rude and could easily piss people off. Negative cr doesn't have to be bad, he just won't like a lot of people and that's the way is it. I'd like to pursue the friends he's started making, and make more friends (or not friends, or more than friends), or enemies, or people he likes arguing with. He's a guy who just wants someone to care about him, but makes it very hard to do so because he's so... him.

Character Name: Diluc Ragnvindr
What do they usually wear? He favors dress shirts and long coats. Vests and thick boots. He is never without gloves. His hair is tied back with ribbon and he either has it in a low pony tail or high. He is never without a weapon on him. A sharpened knife or a great sword on his back when out in the woods.
Where they hang out: During the day he can be found at the diner/tavern. Serving drinks or making a variety of fare for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner.
Activities they often do: Bartending, scouting in the woods, copying damaged pages of a book. He is teaching Dax and Cecelia bartending and Cecelia knives. And trains his magic and sword work on his own.
What they're like at mealtimes: He is the quiet observer during mealtimes. He’ll talk when talked to but mostly dines and listens.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? He reads over the accounts of this place and what bits of a book he has preserved. Off and on. He doesn’t read the provided books.
What do they do at night? Patrol around town to keep others safe. Once night patrol has been done he turns in.
Is there anything unusual about them? Diluc’s physical body temperature is higher than a normal person’s. He wields fire with ease and his hair and eyes are bright red.
What their current vibe is: There is a quiet somber air about him that eases with company. He doesn’t actively seek others out but. He accepts them none the less.
He is all business when investigations are happening. And a gentle teacher for those he teaches.
What CR are you interested in: Honestly, anything. I play it all by ear with Diluc. I like to see what happens by just watching what results.

Character Name: Darin Altway
What do they usually wear? Pale blue vest or sleeveless tunic over a button down, long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves always unbuttoned and rolled up. Slacks tucked into shin high boots. Belts with pouches. Lots of pouches.
Where they hang out: Literally cannot sit still unless he's working. As of late he's in the lobby of the Staywell hyper-fixating on the cistern. Otherwise, the pub or diner.
Activities they often do: Usually up at dawn. Lately he's either training his transmutation magic out in the gardens or he's doing his 'rounds' making sure nothing needs fixing and that people are doing okay. Morale is a huge thing with him.
What they're like at mealtimes: Wolfing down his food, swapping stories, being boisterous. Learning to talk without his mouth being full otherwise Cecelia will give him stern looks and he doesn't want to embarrass her.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Darin gives dramatic readings of the books to those who will listen. He will do the voices.
What do they do at night? Dinner dates with Cecelia before settling in for the night. Maybe the occasional drink.
Is there anything unusual about them? Other than his total inability to be quiet, no.
What their current vibe is: Energetic dog

Character Name: Sakamoto Ryouma
What do they usually wear? His wardrobe leans very Western. Lots of fringe and Nudie suits and big hats. So many hats. Also, check out his fancy black snakeskin boots.
Where they hang out: Ryouma is really big on hanging out in establishments that will serve him alcohol. He also likes to be outdoors as much as possible, weather and spooky happenings permitting.
Activities they often do: What they're like at mealtimes: He likes to sit with people and talk to them. If he sees some lonely nerd sitting alone, he will probably go and sit with them... Otherwise, messy! Will talk with his mouth full.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Yes, but he mostly keeps his thoughts about them to himself because he doesn't think he has any business offering his opinion in an academic discussion.
What do they do at night? At night, he likes to go hang out at the tavern. Most of the time, he drinks a lot, but given his shockingly high tolerance, he doesn't get that drunk. He can and will drink to excess to cope when coping becomes necessary, though :')
What their current vibe is: What CR are you interested in: Anything else?

would love to keep throwing them together and see if they can help each other with their Issues. Astarion won't do it willingly, exactly, but Ryouma seems like the kind who could give him what he doesn't know he wants (unconditional acceptance and kindness? is that too much to ask), so Astarion will probably keep coming back and pretend not to be invested but be very invested

Character Name: Light
What do they usually wear? He dresses like the stereotypical sheriff in a Western film: button-down shirt (fully buttoned), vest, slacks with a belt. Everything he wears is neat and professional, yet practical to move around in. He wears a black Stetson outside, but always removes it indoors. He looks like a goody-good, frankly.
Where they hang out: Thanks to the sheer force of personality that is Darin, the cistern has become his pet project. Outside of that, you'll mostly find him outdoors or at the Staywell--and when he's alone, he's always working on something.
Activities they often do: Mapping the cistern, exploring the town, trying to piece together how everything works. Since his clearest memory is that he was once a star at tennis, he'll also find a way to practice swatting a ball around, partly to keep his mind off things and partly in hopes it will trigger other memories to return. He's also discovered the joys of the bulletin board, God help us all.
What they're like at mealtimes: He's getting increasingly miffed at the lack of rice, but you won't hear him complain. He'll socialize with whoever happens to be around, though he does more listening than talking. His table manners are excellent.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? He glanced at a few once. No further interest.
What do they do at night? He's taken Palamedes's advice to heart and started journaling everything he does. Night time is note time. Something about that just feels right to him.
Is there anything unusual about them? He's just a polite, amiable, studious guy. Very normal. Almost relentlessly so.
What their current vibe is: To the average resident, he seems to be handling things pretty well. To anyone particularly observant or who spends time with him regularly, the vibe is closer to "still waters run deep." He's in deep fucking denial about a great many things (primarily his memory of committing murder and the inevitability of his impending death at the end of the cycle), and someday soon, that bubble is going to burst hard.
What CR are you interested in: Much as I would love for him to make friends, he could also really use a nemesis. Don't be afraid to come piss him off. He thrives on that.

Character Name: Hanzo Urushihara/ Lucifer
What do they usually wear? whatever is purple and comfy. He leans towards loose clothes, layers, and cloaks that cover him from head to toe. If he looks a bit like a sloppy ragamuffin, then it's perfect.
Where they hang out: lately? If he's not hiding in a closet or under the bar, he's either in the bath house, a corner of the tavern, or wherever the books are.
Activities they often do: Hide from people.
What they're like at mealtimes: Urushihara is the type who grabs his food and vanishes if he can. If he can't, he's loudly complaining about the lack of pizza and potato chips.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Urushihara is busy reading all the books, but he's specifically searching for something that looks like it has official business numbers or something else he can analyze. He will share-- but will demand a trade for it.
What do they do at night? sleep in Diluc's closet, if he's not trying to find snacks or reading materials.
Is there anything unusual about them? He's tiny, has purple hair, and lately has been manifesting wings.
What their current vibe is: freaked out cat or bird of prey. Luci is not a happy camper.
What CR are you interested in: Anything really. Luci is a 10,000 year old teenager who has minimal interest in romance and more than enough interest in just watching chaos.

noelle meinhardt | worm
What do they usually wear? Noelle tends to wear loose-fitting, high-necked peasant blouses in red or black. Occasionally these blouses have little fringes. Right now, they're almost always dirty.
Where they hang out: Noelle spends most of her time in a clearing she's made for herself in the woods. She ventures into town very rarely.
Activities they often do: Noelle spends a lot of time hunting for prey in the woods, since she needs to eat a lot. She also likes to mess around with the walkie talkies and read the shitty books.
What they're like at mealtimes: Noelle thinks she is terrible to be around at mealtimes and goes to immense lengths to avoid people seeing her eat. Noelle's monstrous lower half eats raw meat exclusively, so mealtime for her is more like a horror movie than anything else.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Noelle will slip into town late at night, borrow whichever book is easily accessible, and then leave it where it was the following night. Books that Noelle has read are often left with dried-up patches of some kind of residue.
What do they do at night? Sleep out in the woods, or make a quick excursion into town, hoping that no one will see her.
Is there anything unusual about them? The most obviously unusual thing about Noelle is the lower half of her body. From the waist down, Noelle is a flesh-and-body-horror kaiju. Her lower half is made up of an amalgamation of the heads, limbs, tentacles, eyes, teeth, and exoskeleton of various creatures. These creature features are mixed together to create a slurry of barely-recognizable beasts. Her lower half is also quite large, meaning that Noelle is altogether about nine feet tall. She tends to smell like dirt and raw meat. Here's some fanart for a visual!
What their current vibe is: Noelle is shy and self-conscious of her body. She tends to hide from as much of Wellstone as she possibly can because she's afraid that people will judge her. She did manage to go to the masequerade in 5.1, but watching the mindflayer get killed at the end of the month upset her intensely, so she's gone back into hiding. Right now, Noelle is managing two desires that she thinks are at odds with one another: she wants friends, but she doesn't want to get hurt or judged. When you get to know her, though, Noelle is smart, perceptive, open-minded and nerdy.
What CR are you interested in: Anything! In terms of some handwaved CR hooks, Noelle spends quite a lot of time on the walkie-talkie network, so feel free to assume your character has met her there. Your character might also notice evidence of a ~monster~ living in the woods: claw marks, destroyed plant life, etc.

What do they usually wear? Jaune mixes the Western and medieval styles willy-nilly, with an emphasis on practical wear. Picture a white fringe leather jacket over a red tunic, blue jeans, and scuffed cowboy boots for the vibe.
Where they hang out: Jaune goes all over the place on his rounds, but can be most reliably found training outside the hotel, in the NPC run buildings, or patrolling the edge of town and the forest.
Activities they often do: Jaune keeps a routine of early morning training followed by a patrol of the town, a circuit of the NPCs to check in on each of them, more patrolling, another check in on the NPCs and anyone else he runs across, and turning in at night for a brief amount of downtime before sleep. Depending on the month, he can also be found assisting with various projects.
What they're like at mealtimes: Jaune shows up early for breakfast at the hotel and has a balanced meal, often misses lunch or grabs something he can eat as he goes at the tavern, and shows up late for dinner. He's friendly and talkative if approached, but doesn't mind being the only one present, either.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Jaune dutifully reads the romance novels (while blushing) to keep up on the latest releases. He's leafed through a few of the others, but not as extensively. He always puts the books back where he got them when he finishes a nightly chapter, which means he sometimes doesn't see them again for days.
What do they do at night? Jaune has a habit of sticking around the lobby late at night to make sure that people are trickling in after the sun goes down, which is probably fairly noticeable at this point.
Is there anything unusual about them? Besides being tall and blond, not really.
What their current vibe is: Jaune is putting on more of a cheerful facade lately than he has since he first arrived. It's not necessarily obvious in passing, but people who know him well will be able to pick up on the fact Jaune is struggling. He's keeping this largely to himself, but revelations about his relationship to a departed townsperson have him pretty shaken up.
What CR are you interested in: Jaune loves making friends! He gets along with pretty much anyone who isn't an outright jerk, so for the few who haven't been visited by the local Golden Retriever yet or who would like to get to know him better, the door is open.

Dax
What do they usually wear? Trousers, sweaters, comfortable robes, shades of greys and blues. Her style is 'comfort' and 'practical' and 'not worrying about it much'. Once in a while, she'll have one of Palamedes' silly hats with her.
Routine/common activities:
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? YES. ABSOLUTELY. The smut scenes get questions left in them scribbled in the margins, often critique on the realism or a comment about how enthusiastic they must be to be managing x thing. Sometimes just a tongue-in-cheek 'wow! humans!' note at any type of exchange.
She also got her own, real book from the gravedigger last month. It's a polyam romance with a lot of Trill society social commentary. She feels a little weird about the social commentary aspect of it, so she'll only tell close CR she has it.
Is there anything unusual about them? Just the spots on her face. And not unusual, persay, but she's a super animated person! See her talking across the room, and her body language will basically telegraph the conversation. A lot of hand gestures and head/body bops.
What their current vibe is: Dax's cheerful demeanor is a little more forced than normal. She's very worried about a few people and has been seen less than usual this month as she babies a few friends.
What CR are you interested in: Friends, always!! I'd love to talk out some casual, hand-waved blooming friendships with anyone she hasn't threaded extensively with yet. Dax is always here to listen to anyone, support them, and enable shenanigans ranging from lighthearted pranks to hyper-fixating on projects. (p.s. If any character has a tech project idea they want to try but don't have the skill for, come talk to Dax! She loves them.)

Character Name: Palamedes Sextus
What do they usually wear?
Palamedes has gone full wizard, y’all. He’s almost always in long grey robes, and often wearing a big, floppy wizard hats. He thinks they’re cool.
Where they hang out:
By the fire in the parlor, Cecelia’s archive, the diner. He can sometimes be found lurking in the cemetery, though he is increasingly suspicious of it. But if you are also a random cemetery investigation person, you might see him around. While I haven’t done anything concrete with the cistern yet, he probably lurks down there, too.
Wherever he is, he is often in Cam’s company, especially this month, when he is particularly concerned about her health! You can also regularly find him hanging out with Dax.
Activities they often do:
He is an Investigation Boy, and is almost always researching something. This looks like: writing what looks like complex math equations or jotting down observations in his notebook, perusing materials in the archive and cross-checking various documents to spot patterns, touching/examining tombstones in the cemetery or the meat walls in the basement to get a psychometric reading, or making skeleton constructs and watching how far they can go in the acid before dissolving, trying to talk to NPCs and observing their reactions.
He doesn’t really have any hobbies. Someone give him a hobby,
What they're like at mealtimes:
If Pal is eating alone, he is usually picking at his food and scribbling obsessively in his notebook. If approached, he’ll be fairly friendly but clearly distracted. His meal will likely consist of a piece of toast, a single pastry, or a baked potato, and, regardless of the meal in question, a cup of tea.
If Pal is eating with a friend, he’ll either be distracted (in the same manner noted above) or talking animatedly. His meal is likely to be slightly more robust because someone is there to remind him to eat!
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books?
It’s reasonable to assume that Palamedes has read every single book that has shown up in the Staywell. Despite being aware that they’re absolute trash, he has a fondness for the romance novels. He’s not particularly vocal about his romance novel reading, but he will gleefully talk about them with anyone who shows an interest.
Pal doesn’t hoard the “public” books, but he does have two books in his personal collection that he will lend out to anyone interested. One is The Necromancer’s Marriage Season, an in-universe TLT romance novel in the style of something like Bridgerton, and the 1925 Texas Almanac and State Industrial Guide, which he found in the general store during his first month in Well.
Is there anything unusual about them?
He’s a necromancer who dresses like a cartoon wizard! At first glance, he just looks like an extremely skinny human nerd who could get knocked over by a stiff breeze, but here are a few *weird* things you might regularly catch him doing:
- He can create human skeletons out of small pieces of bone and direct them to complete basic, programmable tasks (like walking a particular path, or carrying stuff, or fetching things)
- His specialty is psychometry, which allows him to touch an object and figure out something about its history. Because of this, you might sometimes see him holding a rock or a book or…anything at all, and staring into space.
- When he does too much necromancy he gets nosebleeds and blood sweat, which is like normal sweat with blood mixed in. Ew.
- He has Disney princess-level beautiful grey eyes. This has nothing to do with necromancy, I’m just contractually required to point it out.
What their current vibe is:
Extremely determined, frayed around the edges. He gives off the vibe of a doctoral student trying to finish his dissertation if the doctoral student was also being hunted by a monster. If asked, he’ll say he’s perfectly fine.
What CR are you interested in:
Just about anything, but I’d particularly love to establish some hand wave-y cr with people who have been in Well for a while, but that he has never threaded with! Pal very much assumes that protecting everyone in Well is his personal responsibility—and that includes the people he barely knows. As such, I am pretty sure he has interacted with everyone at least a little bit. I’d love to hear what people think of this weirdo—good, bad, or neutral).

Character Name: Qrow Branwen
What do they usually wear? Full goth cowboy, with the gothier elements being more renfaire. Lots of black and red and unnecessary layers.
Where they hang out: The pub, tavern, and bathhouse are his main haunts, but occasionally he's just flying around in the forest because Trees Good.
Activities they often do: Sparring, drinking, bothering whoever is or isn't interested in a conversation when he's bored, getting up to shenanigans if he finds interested parties for them.
What they're like at mealtimes: Depends whether he's feeling social or brooding at any given time in a cycle, but when he's not sulking and getting drunk on his own, he'll be chatty and fun. Either way, he will steal your fries if you aren't careful.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Sometimes he attempts to read a book just for something to do and gets bored like three pages in and abandons it right then and there rather than putting it back, like a heathen.
What do they do at night? Fly around the Staywell on the lookout for Weird Shit, then attempt to sleep. If it's a bad insomnia night he'll probably linger around the pub or tavern.
Is there anything unusual about them? Sometimes he is a literal crow.
What their current vibe is: Messy but functional, for the most part. Can get his shit together for a crisis but is largely aimless and coasting otherwise.
What CR are you interested in: Friends, drinking buddies, messy hookups, people who can give him purpose and direction.

What do they usually wear? Wolfwood arrived dressed like Clint Eastwood in Pale Rider (sans hat) and by god he has tried to stick with that. That said, he cuts himself some breaks. Sometimes he will just wear an ordinary button-down shirt, in white or blue. He has a more medieval-looking alternate jacket that is also blue. He has decided that hats aren't that bad, actually, after scrounging up a simple cap for winter, so he's on the lookout for one that doesn't look entirely stupid.
Where they hang out: the parlor, generally around the Staywell, the diner, the baths, just generally around town
Activities they often do: Wolfwood can regularly be spotted doing chores that aren't actually needed here but he's doing them anyway. That window really wasn't clean enough. If you're one of the cooking types he will wash the dishes for you, or peel potatoes, or generally do anything that's not the actual cooking part. The only reason the Staywell doesn't have an absurd backup firewood pile is that Wolfwood doesn't know how to chop firewood. He goes for a lot of walks around the perimeter of the woods because Trees Are Neat (but he doesn't go more than a few feet in because he's sure he'd get lost), and sometimes takes prolonged soaks in the baths because Water Is Neat (he tries to avoid being there when someone else is, but he can't do that all the time). He reads. He has gone through several arts and crafts options out of sheer boredom and settled on whittling, which for mysterious reasons is more calming than the rest. He's not very good but he's consistently practicing - if you catch him and express any interest in what he's doing you will be offered the final result. It's mostly funky little birds and flowers, or less funky assorted simple shapes (i.e. stars).
What they're like at mealtimes: He's amiable and a good conversation partner if you want one, though he doesn't often start conversations himself. He is also not above monopolizing a dish that's supposed to be for everyone if he particularly likes it and will defend his right to do so via fork duel.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Wolfwood has read all of them except a few of the romance ones he hasn't gotten desperate enough to touch yet. He sometimes reads in the parlor with the expression of someone who is hate-reading this to go off about it later. He returns them all to the parlor once he's done. Some of them may show signs of having been thrown against a wall, but they do still get returned!
What do they do at night? Wolfwood suffers from semi-regular insomnia. When he gets fed up enough with not sleeping he'll take a walk outside and sometimes get something hard to drink at the bar. He does not get drunk.
Is there anything unusual about them? For reasons not currently known, Wolfwood's senses are notably sharper than a typical human's. Other than that, just some scars and his Nightow character lankiness.
What their current vibe is: Casually personable or generally exasperated (his natural state). Depending on how some things from February turn out, he may gain a certain amount of determination, engage in some more brooding, and/or try not to be seen in public for a few days.
What CR are you interested in: I know "anything" is cliché, but anything! I'm determined to actually play more, though the rest of this month will likely be rough because of work. Also someone teach this man to garden, he'll love it.
Anything else? I'm up past my bedtime any post is a shitpost

Character Name: Emerald Sustrai
What do they usually wear? She still has a soft spot for all the fringe and leather and cowboy stuff from before the setting change. If she can find anything that has that kind of vibe to it, she'll find an excuse to work that into her daily wardrobe. Generally she tries to look good and presentable without trying to put too much visible effort into it.
Where they hang out: In the lobby with her sketchbook, or relaxing in the bathhouse at night when she's having problems sleeping
Activities they often do: Sketching passersby or otherwise doodling. She'll also definitely draw you as portrait practice. She's not bad at it. If she feels like bothering Darin for a stockpile of spare constructed bullets, she'll be practicing her firing out in the forest, too. (Catch her trying cool gun tricks like Revolver Ocelot.)
What they're like at mealtimes: She's not unfriendly by any means, but a lot of times she eats by herself. If someone wants to rope her into having a meal with them, she'll basically always say yes—as long as it's lunch or dinner. Breakfast is her time.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? She loves the romance books because of how unsexy they are and makes no secret of just chilling in public reading some of them. She doesn't care about the sex scenes, but if she sees something that she thinks is particularly romantic, she'll open up her sketchbook and jot down the sentence on a back page for later. This behavior is the only thing she's furtive about.
What do they do at night? RUBY R—no. Nighttime is a time she uses to think about stuff and try to decompress from the day. It doesn't always work out, and when it doesn't (and she gets tired of rolling around trying to get to sleep in an increasingly sweaty bed), she heads over to the bathhouse hoping the warm water will at least soothe her muscles enough that she melts into this gooey relaxed puddle and she can fall asleep way easier that way.
Is there anything unusual about them? Not particularly, no. Not in any immediately noticeable way. Anyone who knows her well might be able to see that she's been pretending a little more lately, either outright acting like she doesn't have any major concerns or sinking more time into her hobbies so she doesn't have to spend time doing any serious thinking. She hasn't been sleeping great, and that one is a little more obvious.
What their current vibe is: Unsettled, but pushin' through it! She's currently still coming to terms with the idea of being someone who's actively capable of murder (ask her about shooting the Gravedigger and drowning Ruby's double), living through the aftermath of real relationship difficulties with Ruby, and trying to figure out how to feel about the woman who saved her life being someone who completely manipulated and discarded her. In case that's something that matters to her.

Character Name: Jessica Richter Blythe
What do they usually wear? Blythe tends to go for loose-fitting garments that don't go a long way in letting her define her silhouette. She goes for white whenever she can, sometimes sheer enough that people can see the scars lining her abdomen without even having to look. It's a 50/50 shot on whether she's wearing gloves, but if there's a situation where she expects she'll be doing a lot of touching of other people, she does usually keep her gloves on.
Where they hang out: It started off as almost a joke, but Blythe does make a habit of wandering the manor like Wellstone's resident ghost now. It's a way to maintain her sense of reality, get any bearings she might need to get, and quietly keep an eye on others' routines. She has a much clearer sense of purpose to it now, though, now that she no longer has as pervasive a problem knowing who she's even supposed to be. (As for the bathhouse changing room bit, she'll go into either one, she doesn't give a damn.)
Activities they often do: If there's something to read, she's reading it. It could be the books, it could be the bulletin board—it's often other people. She enjoys people-watching the most, and for a few different reasons. It's easier to correctly imitate the way others behave in this society if she's watching them, and she really enjoys learning the kinds of things about other people that they don't even know they're teaching her.
What they're like at mealtimes: Complete loner. Not even really convinced she needs to eat since she has no idea what they're even feeding her that could contain any nutritional value. (When she ended up getting lightheaded and nearly passing out, she stopped at least being an obstinate little bitch about it and does begrudgingly eat her three squares.) Blythe has never once mastered small talk and she is not going to do it over food.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? She's a voracious reader, but doesn't actually seem to be getting anything from any of the options available. Mostly she views it as something to do. The self-help books are for people who think that their problems are easy enough to solve just by reading about them, and the romances are not something that she will ever need to make any practical use of, but they're at least marginally more entertaining. She'll pick up something random and find some secluded corner to read from.
What do they do at night? The nighttime is when Blythe feels comfortable walking through the forest or exploring the meat chamber (as far as they can explore it, anyway). It's the kind of space where she knows that she could encounter danger, but feels utterly confident in her ability to remain a predator that can walk among the worst of what the town has to offer. She does not seem like the same distant, aloof person after night falls.
Is there anything unusual about them? Oh boy, where do we start. So yeah, Blythe is a very offputting kind of person, appearing frail and shaky but having a level of confidence in her words and actions that can border on frightening. She speaks strangely, halting and distant as though every single word is being deliberately chosen, and mutters the words "yes" or "no" on instinct before making direct skin-to-skin contact with people. Her body is scarred along the path of major internal organs, but she doesn't seem to care and talks about it as cavalierly as anything else—you know, things like meat, and death, and the frail concept of existence. She's a weird woman and she delights in it.
What their current vibe is: After getting pushed into the fairy circle, she is plagued by thoughts of Death, the Horseman, who told her that He was there to claim His Sister and that she herself was meaningless in the equation. She has feared Death for most of her life, but if it continues unabated, she's going to start developing a mania about it. (She only remembers the Horsemen as described in Revelation, i.e. Conquest instead of Pestilence, which will be sooo fun for further obliterating her sense of self.) She understands herself as Blythe and knows who that person is, but suspects there is more to her than that—and that it might mean her harm. She'll be starting up conversations about identity out of nowhere and never seems to be fully satisfied with the answers.
💀🌙
What CR are you interested in: Oh, hit me with anything. Em could always use more friends (especially people who understand misguided faith, in whatever way you decide to interpret that), and Blythe is going to be a problem to everybody here one way or another.

Character Name: Camilla Hect
What do they usually wear? Comfortable and movable, with considerable thought put into how to have everything she needs with her. She's been looking a bit knightly for the last few months. (Well. In Jan she was looking like statuary, but come with me here). Tunic or loose poet shirt; leggings/skinny pants/breeches; boots, though she does typically with a vest or some leather armor (and some metal armor that she and Flynn commandeered and that she's been trying very hard to improve herself
so if Darin has a twitch that won't go away, that's why). If the powers that be see fit to bless her with chainmail, you better believe that Joan of Arc haircut is stepping into the spotlight it knew it was born for. This isn't actually that different in nature than what she wore in the desert, it's just different colors and materials and fewer wide-brimmed hats (though Palamedes is in love with weird hats so you never know).
Where they hang out: All over; often in the Mansion, but she likes to go to the Pub with Dax and/or if she's picking up a shift, the baths are a favorite to go unwind, and she also just has a habit of sort of...doing a perimeter: noticing things, keeping an eye on people, marking changes and scribbling them down later (or on the spot). Ever since the place has become very not desert-ed, Cam is also very fond of looking at and sometimes sketching flora and fauna she's not familiar with, though she isn't likely to wander into the forest alone unless compelled.
Activities they often do: If Palamedes is doing most anything, she's often at his elbow, and vice versa. The same has become true (to a much lesser degree) of Dax, although she's much more likely to be allowed to her own devices. (This is partly a cavalier thing and partly just knowing Pal.) That said, she is a touch less of his shadow in Well than she is at home with all her memories, and certainly so lately. Usually she can also be found getting one or another kind of workout or sparring session in at points during the week, but during March she's kind of, um. Recovering from her soul being used as a battery, which turns out
for everyone but Gideonto be a little hard on the system.Luckily (or possibly unluckily given the material) Cam also loves to read, sketch, and people-watch, so she's likely to be in a corner of a room drawing something or being enigmatic, or possibly trying to persuade any former sparring buddies to play easy defense while she
pushes herself way too hardrehabs. What they're like at mealtimes: Probably being a little taciturn and snarky with one or both of the aforementioned two, but she might be being taciturn and snarky with another different friend, you never know! Cam likes people a lot. She doesn't talk a lot, but it varies. Right now she can't hit things so she is both more and less talkative, in spurts.
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Yes, because there's nothing else to read, and also because her necromancer has something of a thing for light romance/erotica and she might as well know what the hell he's talking about. Though, she's a little more likely to go for the supposed non-fiction.
She is finding the annotations people are leaving its own kind of fascinating sub-genre of study, though.
What do they do at night? Sleep extremely lightly, enjoy being snuggled or snuggling, occasionally have some traumatic nightmares and get up and wander around and come back. Can be a bit of a night owl although she's become much more diurnal in Well. Doesn't remember it being dark all the time in the Sixth!
Is there anything unusual about them? I mean, she Officially swore to be -- and had to earn her place as -- Palamedes' to-death-and-functionally-beyond protector at age 11 and had to know she wanted to do that years beforehand, that's probably slightly unusual.
When she's not recovering from soul-siphoning, Cam's sort of ridiculously skilled with knives, swords and acrobatics, and had finally had all of that skill regained! She's not starting from scratch as much as sludging through regaining the strength and stamina and finesse, but it's weird for her to not be able to, you know, flip a knife to herself, do a backflip down some stairs and catch it in the air (canon. I'd say she's OP but I watch some CRAZYASS Youtubers. And also that's just kinda impressive-but-not-ridiculous in TLT, it's written like a JRPG, you can just do shit).
In a more mundane sense -- and all the mannerisms are also canon, just not the label -- I do explicitly play her as neurodivergent. She rocks when she thinks, she's almost never still entirely; she's quiet and brief when she does talk (she and Pal communicate in body language and expressions a lot of the time, noticably to other people) and can be extremely blunt -- sometimes seriously, and sometimes because she cannot resist a wry joke. Cam leans toward a flattish affect that's juuust a little judgy of center: all this to say that if you don't know her, she may come off enigmatic or she may come off like kind of a bitch.
If she likes someone, she starts to tease a little more: she doesn't have time to spend on people she dislikes up until the point where she actively wants to hurt them.
What their current vibe is: Extremely stressed that her physical abilities are so nerfed, and both anxious and annoyed that the people she loves are FUSSING so much: she doesn't like worrying people or being a burden. Lots of internalized ableism cw this month. (Though if you poke hard enough [or possibly choke her with some flowers, idk, I'm deciding], she is proud of herself for making the choice she did, and unspeakably proud of Palamedes for pulling it off, and gladder than she knows how to say or that he probably could deal with hearing that Alec's okay, and she'd do it again.)
I do want to use this month to let her very underrated, very high intelligence take its turn in the spotlight and find her some nerdy things to do that aren't athletic.
The brain is still, if not more, active! Archive help for Cece? Mysteries to solve? Types of flowers to index? IDK!
(Also/including sketching! Which I'd like to poke at. TLT is a bizarre sci fi canon that has spaceships and NO PHOTOGRAPHY, so her drawing is generally practical. Cam has an interesting ability to draw from a reference and then be able to rotate it perfectly in her head and draw the same thing as if it were facing in different ways; we also know that she can kind of 'police-sketch'; ie draw a relatively accurate portrait from a good verbal description. I don't think she thinks of herself as creative so much as useful -- her own usefulness is the core of Cam, really, though, and that's an interesting thing to play with especially right now.)
What CR are you interested in: ALL OF IT. ALL THE CR. Especially: new people/any of y'all I keep saying "so I mean to tag you..." / people who have stuff they talk about with Pal (she will have probably heard it, lol). I'd love to handwave people having routines eg working out, sparring, bath gossip, whatever (especially if those are thrown off this month) -- I can be such a slow poster so having a consistent thing to reference is really awesome. But also, new ideas or threads people want are great!
