HANDWAVED CR MEME

Back by popular demand: handwaved CR! What is your character up to outside of the horrors? How do they persist? Use this form to brainstorm how you're characters have been vibing on the day-to-day!
There are some suggested questions, answer as many or as few as you'd like:
- What do they usually wear? Western or renaissance fair? Lots of fringe or puffy pants? All black or all sequined?
- Where they hang out: Are they a parlor guy or a diner girlie? What gendered changing room do they gravitate toward at the baths?
- Activities they often do: Do they wake at the crack of dawn to do a cute little run? Do they prefer to inventory the general store on the daily?
- What they're like at mealtimes: Can you talk to them before they've had their coffee? Do they make horrific food based choices?
- Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books? Self-help, or romance? Do they dogear the sex parts?
- What do they do at night? Do they all hang out in the parlor? Do their drink the night away? Do they lurk in the shadows?
- Is there anything unusual about them? Do they sleep somewhere other than the Staywell? Do they have a particular scent or appearance that might be off-putting? Are they just way too friendly?
- What their current vibe is: Are they happy? Sad? Are you tormenting them with an awful, drawn out character arc?
- What CR are you interested in: Low-key pals? Sparring buddies? Do they have a passive aggressive post-it based relationship?

Character Name: Palamedes Sextus
What do they usually wear?
Palamedes has gone full wizard, y’all. He’s almost always in long grey robes, and often wearing a big, floppy wizard hats. He thinks they’re cool.
Where they hang out:
By the fire in the parlor, Cecelia’s archive, the diner. He can sometimes be found lurking in the cemetery, though he is increasingly suspicious of it. But if you are also a random cemetery investigation person, you might see him around. While I haven’t done anything concrete with the cistern yet, he probably lurks down there, too.
Wherever he is, he is often in Cam’s company, especially this month, when he is particularly concerned about her health! You can also regularly find him hanging out with Dax.
Activities they often do:
He is an Investigation Boy, and is almost always researching something. This looks like: writing what looks like complex math equations or jotting down observations in his notebook, perusing materials in the archive and cross-checking various documents to spot patterns, touching/examining tombstones in the cemetery or the meat walls in the basement to get a psychometric reading, or making skeleton constructs and watching how far they can go in the acid before dissolving, trying to talk to NPCs and observing their reactions.
He doesn’t really have any hobbies. Someone give him a hobby,
What they're like at mealtimes:
If Pal is eating alone, he is usually picking at his food and scribbling obsessively in his notebook. If approached, he’ll be fairly friendly but clearly distracted. His meal will likely consist of a piece of toast, a single pastry, or a baked potato, and, regardless of the meal in question, a cup of tea.
If Pal is eating with a friend, he’ll either be distracted (in the same manner noted above) or talking animatedly. His meal is likely to be slightly more robust because someone is there to remind him to eat!
Does your character read the books? Which ones? Do they share the books?
It’s reasonable to assume that Palamedes has read every single book that has shown up in the Staywell. Despite being aware that they’re absolute trash, he has a fondness for the romance novels. He’s not particularly vocal about his romance novel reading, but he will gleefully talk about them with anyone who shows an interest.
Pal doesn’t hoard the “public” books, but he does have two books in his personal collection that he will lend out to anyone interested. One is The Necromancer’s Marriage Season, an in-universe TLT romance novel in the style of something like Bridgerton, and the 1925 Texas Almanac and State Industrial Guide, which he found in the general store during his first month in Well.
Is there anything unusual about them?
He’s a necromancer who dresses like a cartoon wizard! At first glance, he just looks like an extremely skinny human nerd who could get knocked over by a stiff breeze, but here are a few *weird* things you might regularly catch him doing:
- He can create human skeletons out of small pieces of bone and direct them to complete basic, programmable tasks (like walking a particular path, or carrying stuff, or fetching things)
- His specialty is psychometry, which allows him to touch an object and figure out something about its history. Because of this, you might sometimes see him holding a rock or a book or…anything at all, and staring into space.
- When he does too much necromancy he gets nosebleeds and blood sweat, which is like normal sweat with blood mixed in. Ew.
- He has Disney princess-level beautiful grey eyes. This has nothing to do with necromancy, I’m just contractually required to point it out.
What their current vibe is:
Extremely determined, frayed around the edges. He gives off the vibe of a doctoral student trying to finish his dissertation if the doctoral student was also being hunted by a monster. If asked, he’ll say he’s perfectly fine.
What CR are you interested in:
Just about anything, but I’d particularly love to establish some hand wave-y cr with people who have been in Well for a while, but that he has never threaded with! Pal very much assumes that protecting everyone in Well is his personal responsibility—and that includes the people he barely knows. As such, I am pretty sure he has interacted with everyone at least a little bit. I’d love to hear what people think of this weirdo—good, bad, or neutral).
Anything else?
