An Established Information and Handwave Meme!

Our characters have been stumbling around Well in a daze for a little over a month, and the town is quite small! So, it stands to reason that most of them have either met, bumped into, or warily crossed paths with each other in some form! Because threading every bit of that sort of thing is daunting and not entirely possible, let's establish what everyone would know about your character by now!

You can use this to also handwave some small day-to-day things and also plot stuff to do in the future!

Character name:
Name they go by: What they hand out if its different from their canon name.

Room number: Can specify if they hand this out or not! Can be left vague also.
First impressions: An overview of what meeting or running into your character would entail.
Day-to-day: Are they a shut-in? Do they explore the town? Do they have a routine? Spend certain meals at the diner vs the Staywell? Found often climbing around on the roof? Anything you'd like to add.

Plans: Just anything you'd like to aim towards in the future, be it something going on in the background or something you'd actually like to thread!

Character name: Mayoi Ayase
Name they go by: Mayoi. Will give out the full name if the person is older or he feels a need to be Extra Polite.

Room number: 661. His birthday is 6/6, not that he knows that. Are there six floors in the staywell? If not he's just on the highest floor with a weirdly out of place room number.
First impressions: A weird little GNC creacher. Has the constitution of a dying Victorian, probably easily mistaken for a vampire with his aversion to sunlight and his nocturnal inclinations and jagged teeth. Dresses like a lady in mourning and is inclined to vibrate like a chihuahua at the slightest of startles. Got mistaken for a ghost more than once during the event.

Day-to-day: Mayoi is more active at night than during the day. He's been working on building a garden box in his room for growing his own tea, and will occasionally venture out to find what plants he can scavenge for it. He does not care for crowds, but he will sometimes hang out at the saloon to people watch.

He likes to people watch a lot. He will people watch from dark corners, or from on rooftops, or from outside your window. Someone should tell him to stop doing that last one.

Plans: Once Mayoi gets his garden going, he will make a point of offering it up to anyone who would like some. I also want him to start performing at the saloon eventually, but someone has to give him that idea first.

He may also figure out how to install footholds into various walls and surfaces of the Staywell and other establishments purely so he can climb around as he likes. That might be the memory I give him back next ngl. Sorry not sorry

Character name: Clark Kent
Name they go by: C.K. on the bulletin board.

Room number: Somewhere on the second floor.
First impressions: An awkward but well meaning duck. A lot of things seem to break around him. He very poorly tries to brush it off like it's nothing and definitely not him learning that he's crazy strong. Apparently can also shoot fire out of his eyes sometimes?

Day-to-day: Clark is up early trying slowly working at repairing the stables and trying to help out around town as best he can. He's earnest but a little shy about it at the same time. He's consistently up at dawn, eats three meals a day and is pretty straight laced in his approach to everything. Occasionally you may see a blur of red and blue woosh by. That is him. He wont admit but that's him.

Plans: I want Clark's abilities to be the worst kept secret in Well. He thinks he's nailing it. He really does. But he has no idea what he's doing.

Is it all right to assume that Pal and Clark followed up irl on their Very Important Discussion regarding North American agriculture?

Yeah! One of Clark's actual regains is knowledge about farming and farm equipment. So he will actually be a breadth of knowledge there.

Mayoi is definitely just going to. Quietly keep what he figures out to himself. If Clark wants to talk about it, then surely he will when he is ready...!

which means he may or may not help cover for him without Clark realizing it which I think is potentially very funny.

I feel like Clark will tell Mayoi around the time he figures everyone else knows. For max hilarity.

Character name: Yuri Lowell
Name they go by: Yuri, mostly, but he introduces himself by his whole name sometimes

Room number: Somewhere on the second floor
First impressions: Yuri's usually decked out in black, and never has his shirt done up past his sternum. He has long black hair that he usually wears down. He walks with confidence and he looks his age (he's 22).
Day-to-day: Yuri doesn't like to sit still, and every day will float between meals, mostly, unless he has a bigger task. He's in the cafeteria, he's at the diner, he's getting a drink at the saloon in the middle of the afternoon, he's eating jam out of the jar from the general store. He wakes up late and stays up late, due to the event but also in general.

He's up to talk to just about anyone, in a low key kind of way, and he's itching to use his body to fight. He also isn't against being on roofs, and will hang out on the Staywell roof, or the other roofs in town. He even tries sleeping up there, as if it'll help, and it doesn't.

Get a drink with him, share a meal with him, rope him into helping (he loves to help! Let him help!) with just about anything. If you say "man, this thing would be great" he'll probably just do it, or help you do it.

Plans: I would love him to start a sparring group, I just haven't had the energy to do it. Maybe next month! I'm also planning on him losing his sword fighting skill after he died in the event, so that'll be a fun wrinkle there.

General plans are just to let other people get to know him. Without his memories, he's slightly less cagey than usual.

And if you need a buddy for anything, especially if it requires acts of service, Yuri can help out. He doesn't ask many questions and is Here For It. I'm open to anything!

Name they go by: Cecelia

Room number: idk, fourth floor
First impressions: Stunning amount of red hair and freckles, resting bitch face, always pen and paper in hand, very prim proper posture
Day-to-day: Still fucking going through it with sleep deprivation, so appearances are inconsistent. She'll be up at any given hour sitting somewhere note-taking and staring at people (you, maybe) or the middle distance zoned the fuck out. Prefers the locations NOT playing ambient music, or just sitting alone in the empty hotel dining area

Plans: She's turning to stone on March 17, probably around the billboard. Enjoy perceiving that. She'll revert April 1
Until then she's a cataloguing fiend and buying up most notebook/paper stock whenever it replenishes (she'll leave SOME for y'all but c'mon, y'all don't need it if you're gonna be having full-on 5-act plays scripted on the bulletin board)

I feel like at this point Flynn & Cece probably have like a daily meeting for tea and note-comparison and it's very proper and fancy

oh how delightful ;; she complains about the trouble fixing her hair and he returns with the most heinous of barrettes and now she's OBLIGATED to wear them

Character name: Flynn Scifo
Name they go by: Flynn but he'll hand out his whole-ass name to literally anyone

Room number: Flynn's on the second floor!
First impressions: Have you ever seen a golden retriever? Great: you've met Flynn. He gives off the impression of constantly having something to do despite fully making up most of those tasks himself. He's basically always wearing jeans and some kind of flannel and he's polite but also very intense.

Day-to-day: Flynn is in fact doing his dawn running club every single morning, and they meet in the lobby of the Staywell—hit me up if your character's also part of it so we can talk routines! He loops through the town and around the edge with everyone, they end at the diner for breakfast. After that he's usually found around town, helping to fix up buildings where needed and poking his nose into things. At night, he's usually now in the lobby of the hotel near the fire, writing.

Plans: I'd like Flynn to lead some recon expeditions into the desert eventually, hit me up to join those too!!

Anything else:

Clark is in with the running club! He runs or jogs at a leisurely pace but also never seems to break a sweat.

He’d be down to do some recon in the desert!

Love thaaat Flynn will definitely have noticed that by now, great fodder for a future thread—what's Clark interested in desert-wise?

Clark is probably mostly keeping an eye out for anything that grows however little in the area, or keeping an eye out for any sort of wild life that could be useful to try and catch and raise.

He's a farm boy so he's mostly trying to like find a way to keep busy and useful.

There is also probably a lot of star gazing and trying to see if he recognizes any constellations out during the night.

Oh cute!! If they're out at night together Flynn is probably FASCINATED by the stars stuff and has a million questions about that, maybe we can assume they've talked about that, too. He also probably has asked Clark a lot about farm life...

Clark doesn't have a lot of memories about why exactly he stargazes. But he was doing it well before he learned he was an alien so it's one of those things he's just drawn to.

He will gladly regale Flynn about what he knows about farm life. It's more an understanding of the work needed to go into it, why it has to be done and like a solid understanding he's done it over his actual lived experiences. But he is happy to share that.

Flynn will def have told him that he is a city boy and so it's very fascinating to him because he doesn't have like ANY baseline knowledge about How Farm Is (yet). what a cute friendship

Clark doesn't know this, but he gets hassled by city people all the time. This is a wonderful baseline for a friendship with him.

Character name: Roxas
Name they go by: Just that, he'll tell anyone

Room number: Roxas is on the third floor in room 313
First impressions: A pensive blond teen who looks alternately curious and sort of passively angry. VERY short. Like, 5'3" short. He does a lot of staring, particularly at people, mostly by accident but it can come off kind of creepy.

Day-to-day: Roxas is on a MISSION right now to build himself a skateboard, so he can mostly be found poking around the town looking for supplies for that or testing out his various creations in the dried-out pool. He also spends a lot of time in the diner & the saloon eating and drinking just... way too many sweets. Like an unholy amount of sweets, and he'll absolutely talk to anyone else in there and ask them a lot of questions about themselves. Feel free to have been interrogated. He also spends a lot of time on the roof staring at the sky. A LOT.

Plans: Roxas is mostly just vibing, although he's gonna finish his skateboard next month and eventually regain his knowledge of his weapons.

Character name: Palamedes Sextus
Name they go by: He is mostly introducing himself as Palamedes, but he may slowly begin to call himself Pal.

Room number: Is there a sixth floor? If so, he is on the sixth floor! He doesn’t know why, but this just feels right.
First impressions: Pal is a tall and gangly 21-year-old who usually makes fairly boring fashion choices. He is usually wearing a cowboy hat (because he has learned the hard way that he gets sunburned without them!) and wears glasses (for normal reasons). He is extraordinarily curious about the world around him—it’s like he understands on a gut level that he is a person who is supposed to Know A Lot Of Things, and he’s desperate to replace the knowledge he forgot with new knowledge. He will walk up to people and politely ask random (but not particularly personal) questions, and will be excited by the answer no matter what.

Day-to-day: He’s an explorer! Pal has been spending these first few weeks meticulously mapping and taking notes on the town and surrounding environs. He hasn’t gotten lost in the desert yet, but he has gotten lost in the graveyard a couple of times. Current routines include:
- Either breakfast at Staywell or, if Flynn insists on it, a morning run followed by pancakes at the diner. Running is the worst, but pancakes are amazing.
- Hanging out around town taking some serious notes, or reading the 1925 Farmers Almanac and Texas Industrial Guide for the 500th time. Yes, he has memorized it.
- Poking around town looking for more things to read oh my god get this kid more reading material.
- Eating dinner if someone reminds him to eat (please friends, remind him to eat)
- Curling up by the fire at night drinking tea

Plans: At this point I’m mostly playing it by ear, but! Sometime soon I want him to start realizing that he has Weird Powers. I welcome all thoughts, ideas, and schemes.

Name they go by: He'll introduce himself as Hornblower, despite appreciating that it's a horrible name. Barely any pressing will get him around to Horatio. Feel free to assume his face was laughed in and he coughed up the given name.

Room number: Something with a 76 in it so I can laugh about it.
First impressions: Gangly lad, always a little disheveled, secret curly hair and short ponytail always scrunched under hat because too pale for even the shade; bookish vibes, reckless vibes, socially awkward vibes. He's almost certainly approached at random to ask if a hand could be given with anything and been willing to do literally any task physically possible for a human person (and to attempt any task not possible for a human person at unnecessary risk to himself). He'll also definitely have a little startled when approached before switching into eager-helpful mode.
Day-to-day: He's a lad who likes a routine when possible! Mornings running around looking to lend a hand to whoever for whatever, midday/afternoon holed up in the Cactus Pad playing cards with himself (or others!) in a corner, late afternoon/evening back to running around looking for ways to be of use, evening until too late at the diner drinking coffee and trying to get his thoughts in an organized row.

Plans: He needs to find his place he fits, probably in the form of something more like a formal structured occupation. I'm not sure what it is yet, but like. lmk if there's a club that needs a treasurer etc??? he'll do it please help him

Flynn makes sure he tries a pancake which at this point means Horatio knows about Flynn's terrible terrible food crimes i.e. "Horatio have you tried them with mustard? It gives them quite a kick!"

Room number: Somewhere on the top level, the exact number isn't something I've decided yet.
First impressions: Reyson gives the overall impression of a silken pillow that secretly has a sharpened knife hidden inside. He has all of the delicate grace of a sunbeam, but also an impulsive temperament that is more than willing to commit crimes or pick a fight if he has good reason too. Overall, he's been keeping to himself and observing town for the most part... when he's not building his wardrobe to look as piratical as possible.
Day-to-day: Reyson has been quietly exploring the town, aghast by all of these people who get up at dawn to go running and trying to find a way to eat a yummy steak without getting sick to the stomach afterward.

He may or may not be conducting 'crimes'.

Plans: Reyson is an empath and is canonically the sort whose demeanor will end up changing depending on who he is with. He is a prince that survived tragedy in his canon, and he's been living with the hawks of a neighboring kingdom who do engage in piracy at his own behest-- he does not know this ~~yet~~, but he is noted for being far more temperamental and aggressive than his kingdom was reputed for because of this association.

I really want to see what happens and where this goes.

I also want him to try to punch someone and break his hand in the process.

Name they go by: Diluc
Room number: Ground floor, near the dining room.
First Impressions: People familiar with knights might recognize the air of polite confidence and nobility that Diluc brings to a room. He rarely smiles but is polite to anyone he meets. Also looks like he could break through stone walls and not slow down.

Day-to-day: He's part of the early-rising dawn run crew. After breakfast he checks over the town. And starts his own fire magic training. He checks the general store's inventory and tracking it and the hotel's menu.

Plans: He'll start building a forge at some point. When he remembers how the hell that shit works. Would love for him to join an expedition or just an exploring crew!

Anything else: Call him if you find kitchen stuff, he can make great food.
