It's definitely a little too big to just jump across—it'd be a treacherous landing! He's welcome to roll for it, but the grappling hook would work after a few attempts. It'll catch in the window and hold just long enough for him to jump across and back before the building itself breaks. Inside, he'll find the diner to be a bit of a chaotic mess. The jukebox is broken, and half the building itself is gone, but he's greeted just like usual by the waiter, asking him chirpily if he'd like a milkshake.

Once he starts going down the well, the air gets hotter and fouler, and the feeling of eyes on his skin will get worse and worse the deeper he goes. It's hard to breathe, nearly impossible to see what he's descending into, and the walls are dry and crumbling, with bits of stone breaking off under his feet.

After he descends about 6 feet, the rope starts making ominous groaning sounds, and worse, Darin will begin to feel scraped raw, his skin thin and over-sensitive. The points of contact with the rope burn. If he goes further than that, he'll begin to experience a rapid rotting, much like being touched by his double.
