Character Name: Flynn Scifo
Where they hang out: Where ISN'T Flynn is the better question— he is a busybody who has to keep moving or he'll die. He's like a shark if a shark was a dog with anxiety. He has a pretty set schedule, though, and can be found largely in the manor in the mornings and evenings and vibing around town exploring in the day. He goes to the Starlite for breakfast, usually to the General Store to take inventory, and can often be found in the Cactus Pad drinking anything nonalcoholic and being friendly in the evenings. Also catch him just like. In? the woods?

Activities they often do: lmao Mads wrote this and somehow clocked both of Flynn's daily activities!!

His schedule, roughly:

Morning run at the crack of dawn, he WILL try to bully anyone awake and around into joining him
Breakfast either in the manor or at the diner, he'll sit down near someone to chat most of the time
General store inventory, gotta keep that list updated, and once that's done,
Sword training time! This happens in the Staywell's courtyard and is very intense. It goes for like an hour and a half and usually ends with Flynn shirtless and some hastily-assembled training dummy in pieces.
Town perimeter check after lunch, he'll chat with anyone he sees about anything, he is so friendly
Cleaning time! What does this mean? Flynn keeps himself busy sweeping the courtyard, tidying up the Staywell's entry hall, cleaning his and Yuri's room, sweeping around other businesses... does he need to do this? No, of course not. It makes him feel better don't @ him.
Bath time! He picks the circle door because it seems??? the least offensive???? and stays there for, let's be real, a while. Flynn loves bathtime.
Dinner usually at the Staywell, and then an early bed.

What they're like at mealtimes: If you're in this town and have ever eaten in public, Flynn has sat down with you for a chat. He is so friendly, he wants to be friends so bad, he wants to ask all the questions. This is a great way to assume they met, especially because he DOES make horrible food choices. We are talking capital-C Crimes. Mustard on waffles. Burgers dipped into milkshakes. Mashed potatoes topped with maple syrup, molasses, and spicy pepper. Eggs with coffee on them.

What their current vibe is: STRESSED and also a little blessed. Flynn doesn't like the change, he thinks maybe they broke something, so he's a ball of nervous energy trying to Understand both himself and the town and keep things from collapsing. Also he has a boyfriend and a regular bath so like, he's not TOO too bad.

What CR are you interested in: Would love some sparring / training pals, as well as anyone interested in butting up against Flynn's more snotty stubborn qualities—he can be kind of a judgmental jerk and I'm probably gonna put up a passive-aggressive post-it asking people to please wipe their shoes before coming inside because he's a controlling clean boy like that.

He's also currently in a weird intense quasi-mentorship situation with John Lockedtomb so if anyone needs to side-eye that please feel free.

ALSO......... basically everyone probably knows he and Yuri are a thing because he's a mushy asshole and smiles dopily at his bf and holds his hand in public. He also (canonically) finds a way to work Yuri into basically every conversation. Feel free to ambiently know this about him.

Would love to say Dax has been regularly going with Flynn for runs after their breakfast chat abut it!

Also: Dax doesn’t do swords, and this is a kind-of ‘not a secret but she’ll never bring it up on purpose because she doesn’t like violence’ secret only Pal and Camilla know about ICly, but she can spar hand-to-hand / wrestle! I can imagine this coming up eventually… potential bonding thing… step 7 in the therapy plan or something smh

they are absolutely morning run buddies now! Is Dax a talker while she runs or is she focused? I think it's one of the few times Flynn actually focuses hard and doesn't chat, although afterwards he has a lot to say

also, hell yeah Dax, wrestling for sport and exercise instead of violence is also powerful and something they should definitely do eventually, like a way to work off all the tension of Jamjar Existing. Flynn does a lot of this now too because he lost his sword skills in fact!!

Dax is a mixed bag! If Flynn is quiet, she'll end up being quiet too, but there will absolutely be times where she'll be having an anxious morning and keep trying to bait answers even if he never responds.

There is so much these two could do together with their overlapping interests...and now Estelle has sword!! I'll regain her some basic sword skills soon.

Estelle likes checking out all the fun interesting things in the general store so she would probably run into Flynn there often! She'd happily help with inventory, especially as she's learning more about the dangers...gotta be prepared...

She also loves bathtime...they should talk about what a good guy Yuri is like all the time. It doesn't even need to be bathtime for that!

Estelle by now definitely knows that Flynn thinks they're from the same world, and that he grew up in a pretty poor city he doesn't remember the name of and also that he's a knight

- John enables the food crimes which he thinks are charming and delightful in a horrifying kind of way

- he drops into a seat across from Flynn with a cup of tea, or waves him over to ask for the perimeter-check status update, whenever he's looking for a pleasant distraction

- absolutely watches him do his sword training, it scratches some wistful itch in his brain. starts summoning training dummies from tree bark as a way to flex his new magic. (sometimes the sap runs dark and coppery but that's John's bad, he's working on it)

- thinks about offering skeletons as training fodder. doesn't offer. worried about how Flynn might look at him if he did.

- two guys chilling in a hot tub 5 ft apart because otherwise Yuri WILL know (John wants to pet him but now he's hyperaware)

Flynn reports on the perimeter with all the military seriousness befitting a Knight Captain, which by now he has certainly told John that he is

and frankly he's thrilled about the training dummies, especially because he keeps breaking them and feels bad about that, and they splinter fascinatingly even though the sap takes forever to clean off his sword (that's what he gets for using a wooden one!!!)

I think he also probably brings John bits of bone he finds in the woods like a particularly motivated golden retriever, partially to ask what this is a piece of and whether it wants to be a whole skeleton again??

We've already established bathhouse buddies, but honestly I think they keep a similar schedule in terms of when they are out and about if not necessarily in terms of activities.

I imagine Min-Gi is probably breakfasting around the same time Flynn gets back from his morning runs. He likes a more leisurely start of the day and a later night so he won't be convinced to join him for that, but he will fetch him coffee and an actually decent plate of food when he returns.

If Yuri's teaching Ryan to sword fight he probably comes and watches that sometimes too. He has a weird vibe of someone who kind of wants to join in and is a little bit jealous despite outwardly complaining about how dangerous it is.

Breakfast buddies!!!! I feel like their conversations are probably so nerdy..... Flynn's like, here are the ways I have found through the forest and also the best cleaning tips for getting blood out of stuff, don't ask me how I know that I just do!! Min-Gi also probably knows some like, Flynn Basics i.e. he's a literal fantasy knight with armor and desperately wants to find armor pieces to make into a full set, he used to know how to use a sword, etc etc

And he WILL get bullied into joining Sword Time.

Flynn probably knows a lot of Min-Gi basics too! He used to be a diner cook but now has zero idea how to actually do that. He is (was?) a finance student at university, but it isn't something he enjoyed. Obviously that he is in a band with Ryan back home. Some less basic knowledge he might get to know is that even though Min didn't play it in their band, he does remember how to play viola.

Bullying him into sword time will likely take a while, but if he's really pushing it's not impossible. I think he will dig his feet in and first and then even when he is convinced his nervousness will make him extra bad. And he will. Probably not be consistent whether it's something he wants to do or not.

Ohhh I bet Flynn has asked him everything he knows about the viola, he's so curious about stuff like that and probably uses it as evidence that Min would be Good With Sword. He's a very like... gently motivational bully, in a way? Like, very encouraging, lots of "I definitely don't know what I'm doing either but I've gotten better through practice, it's alright to be bad! That's how you get good!"

Also! Given how well they've gotten on in their threads this far, I feel like it's safe to say that Flynn and Danny are frequently social whenever they see one another around? yay friends

Darlington can also use a sparring partner now that he has a sword (kind of), maybe they practice together on occasion! He doesn't remember that he knows how to fence, but sparring practice will feel vaguely familiar.

But yes they're absolutely social buddies who have the most intensely nerdy conversations I think, and Flynn's probably shared all his usual friend basics— he used to know how to use a sword but forgot, he remembers being a knight and keeps wondering if he knew how to ride a horse, he thinks the dances and parties here are kind of fun actually, he feels bad about all the NPCs. stuff like that. and he'll absolutely welcome a sword-sparring buddy, especially since all his half-remembered forms are like, very military-training perfect, so fencing muscle-memory probably feels very familiar!
