OOC announcements
Welcome to month 2! We're near the midpoint of the cycle and the flowers are blooming!
There will be no event post on the main comm. Instead, make your own logs to include these prompts, and any other prompts you want to add. There will be a mini-event mid-month.
Use the happenings form to report on what your character’s been up to! Did you break something? Did you get into a screaming match in the middle of town? Spill the tea! Everyone’s thirsty for gossip.
Post any bulletins to the bulletin board. Remember that this is now on the new

New this month
At the Staywell
The dining hall features one long table and the same meals every day: a nice, continental breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and a roast for dinner.Fresh flowers adorn the tables in the parlor, pressed into little vases.
Throughout the month, new books appear on tables:
The Garden of DesireAll of the books are terrible, as usual. None of them make sense. Breathing Through The Pain seems to assume that you, the reader, are a flower.
Love in Full Bloom
Youthful Resilience: Harnessing the Power of Spring for Inner Strength
Sexy Springtime Secrets
Blossoming into Your Best Self: A Guide to Personal Growth
A Season of Renewal: A Spring Yeti Romance
Breathing Through The Pain
The General Store
The General Store has its usual selection of renaissance knick-knacks and themed charms for walkie-talkies. This month, they're all shaped like cute cartoon mushrooms with tormented facial expressions.Around town
The tavern’s special for the month: violet ice cream! Sweet, floral, and refreshing. When you visit the few other locations in town, you’ll find the employees friendly and welcomingWhen you visit the few other locations in town, you’ll find the employees friendly and welcoming, although they may say some strange things, in addition to the handful of phrases they usually say:
The receptionist: Every time he opens his mouth, garbled static comes out in short, sharp bursts like it's replacing words. Hard to make out what he's trying to say.
Owner of the General Store: “Those flowers are a sight for a sore nose, if you know what I mean!"
The bartender: Whistles along with whatever tune is currently playing in the tavern.
The waiter: Aggressively chipper. Liable to give you two of whatever you asked for, with a cheerful, "I sure do love this time of year!"
The gravedigger: If you make it into the graveyard, she'll be busily placing floral offerings on the graves.
The sheriff: Damp, moist, pathetic. Wearing a perpetually-wilting flower crown on his head.
The weather
What a beautiful, breezy spring. The days are bright and getting brighter, full of sweet breezes carrying the scents of flowers. Sometimes, if it hits you just right, those breezes carry the scent of home strong enough to hit you in the gut. This happens even if you aren't sure what home smells like. Other times, the wind smells heavy and wet, and carries with it the thick scent of decay.
Flower petals gust into town and drift along the streets in fluttering heaps, tickling cheeks and noses. The trees aren't blooming, so it isn't clear where the petals are coming from, but they're there.
When it isn't raining petals, it's actually raining. Warm, thick spring rains cap off most days, drenching the town in a fine mist and setting up deceptively-shallow puddles in the streets.
Be careful where you're stepping! Some of the puddles, though you're sure you can see the street just an inch under the water, might actually go over your head when you step into them. Hope someone's around to pull you out. At least the water's nice?
The cistern
This month, the water level in the cistern is… higher. Nearly a foot higher, in fact. Some of the lower platforms and footholds that were placed have been washed out, making going even more treacherous. Here and there, the fleshy eye-flowers from the maze grow.
FAIRY RINGS
Content warnings: fear, paranoia, potential character death, altered mental states
With the rain blanketing the town this month, it's really no wonder that lush plantlife springs up in response. Wildflowers carpet the ground and creep up the decaying stone buildings in town. Vines choke doorways and creep across paths.
And, of course, mushrooms. Many, many mushrooms. They're everywhere, growing alone or in perfect fairy rings all over the woods and in town, sprouting up overnight and disappearing the next day.
When you step into a fairy ring, you might not even realize. Some of them are as big around as houses. How could you know? Nothing seems to happen.
At least, not at first.
It comes down on you all at once: fear. Thick, cold, wet, coating your skin and your tongue, pressing down on your nerves, you are gripped by fear so intense that it stops you in your tracks and makes your head spin, whites out the rest of the world. This is no generic fear, either. Whatever you are specifically terrified of— abandonment, becoming a monster, losing yourself, spiders—seems to be coming true all around you, all at once. Some fears may be so real that they could actually kill you. If you're afraid of a monstrous version of yourself, that version of you could strike you down, and you will die. If you're afraid of letting down the people you love, they might turn on you in your own mind, seeking to punish you for what you've done. The danger is real and immediate.
To break the illusion, the circle needs to break, too. You won't be able to see it from inside the illusion, so more likely someone will need to break you free. To them, you'll just look like you're standing there, doing whatever you're doing in the illusion in broad daylight in a circle of mushrooms.
Better be careful breaking those circles, though. When you're freeing someone, if you cross that threshold, you'll become trapped in the illusion right along with them but with your own fears added into the mix. You'll then have to work together to get free.
Once you're free from an illusion, you aren't out of the woods entirely.
Getting trapped just once heightens your fears for the rest of the month. You'll find yourself paranoid, worried that you're doing something wrong or alienating your friends. You'll see monsters in shadows. You're sure you're being hunted, and you have a growing and awful thought: the only way to truly be free is to trap someone else in a fairy ring.
And you desperately want to be free. The longer you go with those fears stalking you, the more intense the urge to save yourself will be. Who knows how long you'll be able to hold out before casually nudging someone past a line of mushrooms?

- People can get trapped together in a circle.
- Getting trapped just once makes you paranoid for the rest of the month, and liable to purposefully shove someone else into a circle to make it stop.
SPEAK THE TRUTH
Content warnings: choking, suffocation, potential character death
It starts small. Just a tickle in your throat when you're standing outside, like a dry spot you can't quite get rid of. You cough a few times and settle again.
Over the course of a day, or a few days, it builds. You're short of breath. Your lungs start to hurt, and then the rest of you. You can't seem to stop coughing. One particularly nasty fit takes you, maybe, and for the first time you feel something come up and spill from your mouth, choking you as it goes:
Flower petals. And glitter. Your body is bursting with glitter and flowers so thick they clog your lungs and your belly and your airways. Speaking becomes almost impossible; breathing is beyond difficult. If you don't get all of this out, you're almost certainly going to suffocate under the mass of lovely shimmering petals inside you.
To fix it, you'll need to speak your mind.
Small truths bring small relief. Tell someone that you're having a bad day, actually, instead of saying that you're fine, and you'll feel your lungs clear for a few hours. Let a friend know you actually hate fringe on them and don't think it works, cough up a few petals, and go about your day with clear lungs.
But to really grant you peace—because those flowers will keep blooming—you're going to need to go bigger than that. Tell a deep truth. Confess a real secret, something you'd rather keep hidden, something you're not proud of. They'll be top of mind this month whether you remember them or not. You might find yourself confessing something you have no memory to back up, but even that seems to work to stave off the flowers for a week or two, so keep those truths coming! If you keep talking, the flowers can't get you.

Upon Reflection
Content warnings: age changes, potential body horror
It's a beautiful spring day, the flowers are blooming, and you are looking just incredible today. Even your reflection, when you catch a passing glance in a window or a mirror, seems to look younger.
Or older. Or both?
No matter what reflective surface you look into, be it a mirror or the back of a spoon, it isn't your own reflection you'll see this month. Not exactly. It's you, alright, but it's you at a different age entirely. Maybe you're a cute little 5-year-old. Maybe a wrinkled 70-year-old stares back at you. For a moment, you're trapped, staring deeply into your own eyes. You feel the world fall away. You lose track of your own body for a bare second.
When you come back to yourself, your reflection is still there and you feel… different. Not mentally! Your mind is the same as it ever was, but your body? That's now the same age that it is in your reflection, be that five or fifty.
Weird!
This age-change effect lasts until your character either sees their reflection again at a different age (which can be their original age or a different one again) or for a few days. You can change your character's physical age as much as you want, but their mind will always stay as-is.
You can regain up to three memory points by interacting with this prompt, just by changing your age once. The memories you regain don't have to be age-related but there's a high likelihood they will involve your character's childhood.

If we go up to the receptionist and screw with the available channels on the walkie talkie can we hear anything discernible?

1. While testing frequencies to broadcast the music over, do Ariane and Dax pick up anything on non-network frequencies?
2. Does anything strange happen if the NPC voices are put over the walkie talkies? i.e., say Ariane is on one side of town prompting standard responses from the waiter and Dax is on the other side listening, is it anything odd?

Since Ruby and Emerald were able to dig their way in there from the graveyard. I was wondering if it's possible to see the light from the whole they dug from around the entrance Darin found?
I guess follow up question would be what would happen if she dug more holes through out the grave yard? Or tried to make that hole bigger?

Ruby's also getting used to using her abilities now that she knows they're there. They could maybe work together at trying to bring out their abilities more? Most of Ruby plans would involve a sort of trail by fire approach.

yuri & astarion
Your pronouns: they/them

yuri lowell
Event ideas:
- Tiny little guy! Yuri is going to be a child and furious at the limitations of his tiny body. It's going to be like a kitten spitting at you. If you get aged up, he may have an existential crisis at you. I'll also age him up probably and he will go hide in a corner, forced to think about living past the age of 25.
- Also going to hate telling the truth, glitter all over his mouth all the time. Could be a very fun one for him, since he isn't really a liar, but he does obfuscate the truth out of embarrassment. Let him tell you his true feelings about you! It'll be weird.
- Fears. I'll probs save this til later in the month because he won't pass it on. He'll keep the fear impulse until it kills him or someone forces him to pass it along. In the worst game of tag, he loses. His fear is hurting the people he loves, including all his Well friends. Want to see Yuri stabbing you? This is your shot!

astarion
General ideas or plans for the month:
- Astarion had a really nice time biting folks at the party, and really doesn't want to go back to drinking animal blood. For the folks he already bit, I'd love for him to approach them and sort of kind of ask for more (and be forced to say it outright with the hanahaki). If no one bites (ha), I'll toss up a bulletin board ad for who wants to be bit by a vampire.
Event ideas:
- While he doesn't know it, really, his fear is to be enslaved again. He'll see himself being tortured and tormented in pretty horrible ways, so lots of cws on this prompt for him. He will very willingly pass it along to someone else so open to have him shoving folks into the fairy rings.
- Not a big truth telling fan, he will Not Like the glitter flower mouth disease. Let him tell you not so pleasant things he thinks about you! Learn about things he doesn't even know about himself (read: the aforementioned enslavement, awful things he's done, the people he misses from the party). Learn vampire lore! Could be fun here.
- Astarion can't see his reflection, so this one will be a Lot for him. He's going to see himself as an old man and go into a spiral, so if you want to see an old, old vampire freaking out, this is the one for you!

Light
Your pronouns: she/her
Contact:
Character name: Light Yagami
General ideas or plans for the month: As the new kid in town, Light's main focus will be on figuring out how things work, trying to make a good first impression, and scoping out who in Wellstone might be useful. I'm going to ease my way in with mostly closed threads before I start tossing out open starters, I think, but I'm very open to hearing thread ideas!
Things he will do for sure:
-talk to Palamedes about lore stuff
-visit the archives (hello, Cecelia)
-run into John and Gideon in the bathhouse
Event ideas:
-Light's biggest fear is being caught, and it will manifest in the form of his father showing up to call him a murderer and attempt to honor-kill Light. The specter will come for Light relentlessly, but won't be a danger to anyone else. Since Light currently has no memory of his father (let alone of the fact his father put him through a mock execution like this a few months back), this will both terrify and confuse the hell out of him. He'll happily push someone else into a ring afterwards if he gets the chance, but only if he can do it in a plausibly deniable way--the last thing he wants is to give anyone more reason to suspect he might be a killer.
-If somebody wants their character to push someone into a ring, I volunteer Light as tribute. He's new here and looks harmless; it would be weird for him not to be a prime target.
-Light isn't an open book sort of guy under the best of circumstances, let alone when he's living in fear of being called out as a murderer. Tossing faerie ring paranoia into the mix won't help, either. He's doomed to collapse in public at some point because his hanahaki is literally killing him. Whether he actually dies or coughs out a deathbed murder confession to save his life will depend on the situation, particularly his CR with whoever finds him.
-I want to age him up to middle age at some point. Maybe after his faerie ring experience, he starts seeing himself at his father's age, and this all ties into him ultimately remembering who his father is to him. IDK. I'm still workshopping this one.

Ruby Rose | RWBY
Your pronouns: He/Him
Contact:
Character name: Ruby Rose
General ideas or plans for the month:
Last month was a wash. So I'm planning on doing a prompt of her digging around at the grave yard and opening up the cistern for more people to be able to mess around with. Murdering the Gravedigger some more!
FAIRY RINGS
Ruby's chalk full of fears of failing or letting other people down brought on from some heavy self loathing. Would love to drag some into some situations where she's stuck and unable to help people from some awful things going down.
SPEAK THE TRUTH
Ruby is really bad at admitting her own positive traits in her current state of mind. I'd love to use this as an excuse to get her to open up and be more upfront with what she actually enjoys around here. Let the depressed girl be happy.
UPON REFLECTION
May shift Ruby down to 5 or fifteen if anyone wants some age related shenanigans. I wasn't as interested in this at first glance, but now I need shenanigans of her having trouble reaching up to the counter and high shelves.

Loki
Your pronouns: she/her

Character name: Loki
General ideas or plans for the month:
Loki's trying to recover his dignity after the bulletin board repeatedly humiliating him. I have no idea how he might actually do that given the party and all but. He sure wants people to not think he's as embarrassing as he is. :T
Event ideas:
Fairy Rings: THIS IS VERY COOL but honestly something I will only probably have time to tag into, not include in a catchall log. Loki's fears include: rejection, not being who he thinks he is, being alone, falling...and probably more tbh.
Speak the Truth: Loki's flower of choice will be mistletoe of course. He has lots of embarrassing small truths to share but I'd like to have him blurt out a truth he doesn't remember. Off the top of my head here's a few truths that might come up: thinking he's a narcissist, having such intense self hatred it led to attempted genocide, being desperate for others approval but not knowing how to actually connect with them, just wanting someone to see and accept him, being a Time Criminal, not being 100% sure he's not a robot...
Upon Reflection: Canon has kindly provided us with both a young version and old version of Loki. I'm excited to play around with them, as it will get Loki even further from realizing the god thing. Gods don't age, right? Probably? And that's *definitely* him, so. Hm. Also he'll be frustrated as hell about being shorter as a preteen and insecure about being old because he's a vain motherfucker. ALSO also, he might try and use the age change as a way to check on his reputation after all the gossip. He's just a chubby faced little boy why don't you tell him all your secrets you need to get rid of those flowers anyway...
Are you planning to create a log this month? YES FOR SURE THIS TIME. I will try and get one up tonight or tomorrow so I don't miss shit entirely and then go get caught up elsewhere orz

General ideas or plans for the month: Like a lot of us, today is going to be a catch-up month for me! Last month, Pal decided to poke at the soul of two npcs, and then tried to save Alec from his own brain, and I'd like to get the threads related to those two plots in a solid place before I take on more. That said, I'm not going totally MIA or anything, so if anyone wants Pal for something hmu!
Of note: During the Signal Plot, Pal siphoned Cam (ie., consumed some of her life force) to boost his powers to help Alec, which left Cam in crappy physical shape! Because of this, Pal will be obsessively hovering around her in March. If you need an excuse for your character to not be able to find him, assume it's because he's busy looking after her.

Nothing specific, but do let me know if you want Pal to get involved in your characters' shenanigans.

Flynn Scifo | Tales of Vesperia
Your pronouns: he/they
Contact:
Character name: Flynn Scifo
General ideas or plans for the month: Largely catching up from last month, like many of us, and also Flynn's looking to study the NPCs a little more, so any buddies for that are welcome!
Event ideas: Listen. I'm a simple creature. I'm here to make Flynn into either a ten-year-old or a hot 40-year-old. It's gonna be both. I'd love to combine those two things with fears as sort of additional set-dressing! Do you need a hot dad knight to rescue you? Good news.
Would also love to play with Flynn's fears! I pull my punches with him a lot and I'd love to go very hard on him this month. He has a deep-seated fear of failure and being abandoned, and that can play out in all sorts of fun ways— come watch yourself leave him behind after unleashing a volley of harsh words about how he failed you! Watch his actions result in a flood of monsters coming and destroying the town! Fun times for everyone.
He doesn't hold back a lot of what he feels, but VERY here for pulling truths out of people so they don't die. Confess your thoughts to him. He'll get you a tea about it.
Are you planning to create a log this month? No, I'll toss up some fear prompts for folks if you're interested or wildcard them, but otherwise planning to tag around!

Character name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
General ideas or plans for the month:
I too mostly plan to get back to everything I started in February! That said some of this is too good to pass up.
Event ideas:
Speak the truth: Wolfwood will absolutely lie to people's faces point blank, but he generally prefers to just avoid having a conversation about whatever he would feel the need to lie about. So for this I will embarrass him by having him going about as normal until he suddenly blurts something out without warning because he can't breathe. I can go very dumb with this or very serious, depending on your threading desires!
Upon reflection: Wolfwood will be aging down so instead of looking like he's pushing 30 he'll look like he's in his late/teens early twenties. The secret is that this is his actual chronological age. He will also be gaining the memory of being horrifically medically tortured as a kid. A memory completely unrelated to any age shenanigans, of course.
I'll be sitting out any fairy rings stuff, I don't think I'll have the bandwidth for it on top of everything else.
Are you planning to create a log this month? I will probably just add a prompt or two to this open log instead.
Urushihara Hanzo / Lucifer | The Devil is a Part-Timer!
Your pronouns: they/them
Contact:
Character name: Hanzo Urushihara / Lucifer
General ideas or plans for the month: At this point Luci is going to be recovering from a sizeable identity crisis after having some of his angelic nature drawn out by the Shard and it's Signal in the mini plot. He thought he was just a normal guy! Not an Angel!
General activities will be reading whatever he can find and trying to find a ledger to show to Diluc, to see if they can make sense of anything. He doesn't even know that he can even find a business ledger, but he's gonna try. Otherwise, he's going to be hanging out at the bar and trying to learn how to make drinks by watching the people tending bar and pathetically fighting off allergies.
Event ideas:
Luci is going to be hit with both his fears of abandonment as well as coughing up flowers and glitter. For those with an eye for symbolism, they're the Japanese Morning Glories-- delicate little purple things that bloom and fade with the sun.
He will be unaffected by age effects but willing to chill with the old people or babysit the kids. Weird.
Are you planning to create a log this month? idk time will tell.
