Vibes: He's got some antiquey round glasses, a big hat, and a poncho. Under the poncho it's kind of a shabby gentleman's look. Mysterious poncho man, go. His hair is curly, it is almost always a mess.

Memories: I kept it pretty simple to start with. He has acuity for studying weird occult stuff, and a few very "vibes only" memories of where he's come from. The dreary fishing village and that his brother [Spinner] was named after a spider.

Initial Plans: Sokta is more curious than he is frightened. Sure, he'd like to get back to whatever he was doing before he was here, but he needs more information before he can decide on how to accomplish that.

He does want to meet [you] but he isn't the most pleasant guy. He's not malicious, he's just very uninterested in pointless social nicety.

Anything else?: If you tagged with him in Deer, this is a different version that I had been mulling over for a while. His core personality is exactly the same, just the world around him has shifted around.

loooool, and I just realized there was more than one version! *facepalm* I was looking at the About (Fantasy) section. Basically, Pal can also talk to ghosts, and has been trying (and partly succeeding) to contact the ghosts in Wellstone for a while now. He'll be excited to have another necromancy buddy, assuming this dude is, in fact, a necromancy buddy after all.

At the moment, Sokta [Alt Earth] does not know much about practicing necromancy BUT has made contact with the Ghost Dog and is resonating with something that is neither human nor entirely 'living'. Pursuing more of the Ghost Dog arts would get him to the necromancy skills. He just hasn't had the chance.

Ghost Dog is very hell hound-y, anubis-y, cross roads-y, etc. And that's where his necromancy powers come from in [Fantasy] version.

Vibes: What western aesthetics are you forcing them into? What kind of first impression do they give off? What are they like?

Even though Cid has a thick Yorkshire accent (thanks Ralph Ineson), few men could so effortlessly fit into the aesthetic. He’s clever, rough and tumble, and oozing masculine charisma. He’s friendly, but he tends to want to take the piss out of other men as a form of bonding. He chuckles at his own jokes and can’t hold still, but he always wants to lend a helping hand. At his core, he’s a pacifist. On the immediate surface he will resort to violence when butted up against difficult situations.

Memories: How much do they remember? Are they all-skills-head-empty, or do they have a head full of memory fragments?

He has some fuzzy ideas, but nothing useful to contextualize himself. He doesn’t know about any of his magic powers or any of his world’s history. He can tinker.

Initial Plans: How's your character going to feel about being trapped here? Are they going to chill in the Cactus Pad, or immediately try to get out of town?

Cid hates being trapped and loves making bad fucking choices. He’s going to get in trouble right quick.

Canon: Final Fantasy XVI
Vibes: Barnabas definitely has some dark and foreboding vibes, a little wretched if I'm to be honest. He's aloof and quiet, soft spoken and reserved, and has a Norwegian accent! Though he isn't one to talk over much. Certainly the brooding, aloof, mysterious type, and if I were to liken him to a Western character archetype, he'd be the Samurai Cowboy. Look, his sword is called Zantetsuken, he rides the only horse that exists in his world, they knew what they were doing when they designed him.
Memories: Barnabas mostly remembers how to train animals and ride horses (but I'm mean so he doesn't remember what horses are called), he also remembers his combat skills, that he's immortal, a man named Cidolfus and some vague things about him, and that he's a king through conquest and not lineage.
Initial Plans: It's inconvenient, that's for certain. However, Barnabas isn't exactly in tune with his emotions, so he won't feel much about this situation. He will be trying to figure out what this all means, and why he's here though! He's definitely a guy who tries to solve problems and unravel mysteries. Big picture type things, less so interpersonal...

Ok so basically you know how Final Fantasy has chocobos? Well, since that's their mounts, they don't really have horses. At all. Except for him. He magically created his own horse which has 6 legs... His name is Sleipnir, since he embodies Odin (just Final Fantasy nonsense). Anyway, I think him and Laios will be interesting, especially since they kinda share an interest in monsters, and Barnabas keeps interesting pets.

Meanwhile, Barnabas wasn't born into royalty, he became a king through conquest. Just a traumatized religious villager with a fragment of a higher being's power freshly awoken in him going on a 16 year conquest spurred by the bloody aftermath of religious persecution, nbd. What's a little war and absolute monarchy for the sake of changing the world, right? Just ignore that he was replacing one system of oppression with a new one.

Vibes: Listen if Laios lived in modern times he is a confirmed t-shirt guy, so anything loose and flowy is gonna be his jam. Think blousy white renaissance fair shirts and then like, blue jeans and a bandanna. Practical western gear for the practical adventurer with texture issues!

Memories: Laios knows how to: cook, use a sword, and survive for a while and that's pretty much it! He does have a baseline of monster knowledge still, but it's not very deep anymore. He'll be looking to fix that asap.

Initial Plans: He's gonna be poking around at everything! Laios doesn't know what's going on and he wants to, so find him out in the woods and poking around buildings and probably talking to the NPCs to figure out what their deal is. Buddies appreciated.

Vibes: I want to force him into the more steampunk sort of aesthetics, something that he could, if he wanted to, ham up and enjoy. But otherwise, expect Kaeya to give off a different vibe from canon. He'll be a bit shyer, less likely to lie, and more willing to make friends, earnestly.
Memories: He has one major memory that is one of his key character defining memories, and then a few small, pleasant memories, and finally, sword. Sword was important.
Initial Plans: Right now? Kaeya's gonna be a little worried that he isn't where he is supposed to be, and that he's significantly OLDER than he remembers. So expect that to impact how much he wants to get out of dodge, or is trusting of other people.

Okay, this is Orlando, player of Nicholas D. Wolfwood, with another tsundere asshole cynic who hides a gooey idealist core. Except this one is also an addition to the blond knight contingent (kinda).

Seriously though: Vinland Saga

Character Name: Młynar Nearl (it's pronounced Mwinar because AU Polish. I do not expect anyone to use the ł, a normal l is fine.)
Canon: Arknights

Vibes: Młynar has resting Disapproving face, and generally carries himself like some stick in the mud. In canon this both is and isn't accurate; here, it will inaccurate more often than not but he can't help himself. He also has permanent horse furry vibes, on account of the horse ears and tail. Please mock him relentlessly for all of this. It's what he deserves. For clothes, he's going to end up with a mix that leans towards the medieval over the western - think knightly surcoats and cloaks, but also cowboy boots.

Memories: Młynar remembers just enough to think that he's been spending his whole life wandering his homeland Kazimierz and helping people out where he can. He remembers nothing about his family or their noble status, just that he must have gotten some money somewhere because he had some nice gear. He's also retained all of his combat training, which means that if you use or want to learn to use any traditional knightly weapon he is happy to spar with or teach you!

Initial Plans: Since he has no idea whether there's anything really important he needs to get back to, Młynar will instead focus on helping everyone here! He'll want to learn about the history here, and is likely to try to problem-solve things like the regularly occurring scarcity of resources. He will be especially concerned about helping the npcs.
