[PLAYER PLOT] THE WELLSTONE BASEBALL EPISODE
Hello, residents of Wellstone! The Wellstone Games Club, consisting of Keiichi, Alec, Dax, Olympia, and Satoko, have been reinventing the Earth game "baseball" based on a collection of half-remembered rules. They've created something... mostly resembling baseball, and they're bringing it to town in the form of a friendly competition!
This will be a laid-back event consisting of an RNG'd game victor, vibes-based baseball, and an after party.
There will be two teams; the captains are Keiichi and Dax.
This is open to everyone in town, please sign up in the comment below and join us!

Team/role preference: Alec cannot possibly be asked to choose between Keiichi and Dax. They have to fight over him. Or fight to not have him, because he sucks so, so bad.
Modifier: -5
Alec is incredibly unsuited to baseball. He has bad hand-eye coordination, zones out if understimulated for more than three seconds at a time, is complaining about how hot it is, doesn't understand the rules, has noodle arms and legs, and will probably get fouled for tripping the competition. Enjoy.

Player name: Tzvia
Player contact:
Team/role preference: No strong preference, but Light being on Dax's team would be fun ("I know the last time we did sports together was a disaster BUT this will be different, I swear")
Modifier: 4. He's athletic and has definitely played baseball before, and his tennis skills will give him an edge in fielding/defense (though they may hamper him a bit in batting until he adjusts). He's also capable of switch hitting!

Player name: Zorn
Player contact:
Team/role preference: He literally doesn't care, he honestly agreed only because he had no real reason to say no, and it makes sense to get to know the people here in some capacity, and a competitive game is better than one on one conversations.
Modifier: 5
Barnabas is in peak physical condition, inhumanly athletic, has incredible precision. He's a quick study, and so he'll learn the game fairly quickly. He does not buckle under pressure, and is nearly unshakeable emotionally, and the heat won't get to him. It's honestly a little alarming how unaffected he is by all of this, but hey, that works out for the team, don't it!

Team/role preference: No preference, he can also Umpire if you like. Sharp eye, keen wit. Bad shoulder
Modifier: (and any explanation or flavoring) I'm gonna give him a 1. He is athletic, a quick learner, and a team player. He has supernatural ability that he's unaware of that makes him extra resilient. However, he's got a bad arm, he's getting on in age, and he's a smoker. So I think that evens it out pretty well.

Team/role preference: Dax ofc
Modifier: -1. Dax isn't great at this, in general, has bad hand-eye coordination, and has a tendency to get tilted during attempts to play sports. She's going to be WAY more invested in making this 'fun' and in teaching her team the actual rules than in practical training.

Player name: Billie Sue
Player contact:
Team/role preference: Aw, if given the choice he'll pick team Dax for sure! If not he'll be happy wherever.
Modifier: (and any explanation or flavoring) Hmmm I'm gonna say probably a 2, though it could probably fluctuate depending what he's given to do. He doesn't remember how to play baseball, but makes enough baseball references in canon that he probably was familiar with it. I don't think he was ever in a league but probably did okay in like, a middle school gym class setting.
He'll be at his best in a role that sees consistent action, like an infielder. If he winds up in the outfield he's literally never going to be able to pay attention and deserves to be bumped down to a 1 or a 0. With infield though he can juggle a lot of stimulus at once! He also has really good arm strength and will probably be a pretty good batter, but this will be balanced by the fact that he will probably accidentally throw the bat now and then - though lmao depending how much they've changed the rules maybe that's not a problem anymore.

Team/role preference: she would prefer to be with Dax! And/or Pal if he signs up. It could be FUNNY to be opposite them but she’s got the best modifier of the three (ooh but she and Alec opposite Dax could be silly)
Modifier: gonna optimistically give her a 3 on the basis of:
- her hand-eye coordination including against moving objects is really one of her strongest skills
- Cam can learn how to do anything, apparently! Ask NTN
- Though knocking down a point for not actually KNOWING the rules and presumably not having them taught in the Empire since…it’s very not a NZ sport
- strategy/data is a thing she enjoys which comes into baseball more than you’d think tbh
- she’s ambidextrous
- she will get bored with the waiting around part when in the field, deduct point
- but she’ll be WAY less bored and more committed than some other people?
This is delightful. And somehow also alleviating of my anxiety about getting back into things. Love it.

Team/role preference: Keiichi's team, naturally. and his preferred positions are 4th on offense, and catcher on defense.
Modifier: +4!
Keiichi has actual specific recollection on batting technique, and has notably good hand-eye coordination. He's also putting his entire chest into victory as if his life is on the line, and is a solid team player.

Player name: Min
Player contact:
Team/role preference: No preference! He will play with whoever wants him to be on a team and I dunno enough about sportsball to know what position he'd be good at haha. Whatever seems interesting for y'all!
Modifier: 5 — Ryouma is a Servant with inhuman strength/speed/stamina and is also a trained swordsman, so he's kinda used to swinging shit around with lethal force in a very precise fashion lmao
He is also a team player but is likely to get very competitive because he knows it's a game, so he doesn't have to hold back. He does not know the rules whatsoever but he'll pick them up fairly quickly.

Player name: Mads
Player contact:
Team/role preference: No team preference, he might enjoy being a pitcher. Let him try trick throws, it would be fun!
Modifier: 4, very athletic with great aim, loves to hit stuff

Player name: Joey
Player contact:
Team/role preference: Min-Gi would prefer to be on Ryan's team, but honestly would probably try harder and perform better if they were on opposites so put him wherever. Catcher might be a decent role for him? Idk, I don't know baseball.
Modifier: 0-ish.
He's not incredibly sporty, but it's not like he's unfit either. He will do worse in higher pressure positions where he feels like people are watching more. On the other hand he is ambidextrous, has a strong left armed throw, and according to my baseball advisor this can create a small pitching advantage, so maybe he'd actually be okay there.

Player name: Julian
Player contact:
Team/role preference: Whatever team Yuri is not on, probably on Dax's team if there's space
Modifier: +5
Flynn's been wielding a sword since he was about four years old and he's incredibly good at it! He's got excellent hand-eye coordination and he learns very quickly, especially about physical things. Generally, he's in phenomenal physical condition (see: morning runs). Also, he LOVES competition and despite his good nature he is competitive as hell and will be at the top of his game, even if he doesn't know what this game is or how it works.
He'll be better as a batter and in the field than he will as a pitcher.
If he's against Yuri, he's going to get even more competitive. It'll be awful.

Player name: Jelle
Player contact:
Team/role preference: Absolutely no specific preference, throw her wherever she's needed! Olympia is probably a last pick anyway.. If her world had regular high school, she'd forever be doomed to be the last picked during P.E. class..
Modifier: 0. Olympia's pros and cons balance each other out. She can be a little clumsy and is definitely not a sports type of girl, but she will be determined to do her best and will probably dissuade people from stealing an extra base when she's standing near it and looking like the saddest little wet kitten anyone has ever seen.

Player name: Orlando
Player contact:
Team/role preference: No preference, though he might slightly prefer Dax's team (she seems smart). For role, just let him hit things sometimes and he'll be fine.
Modifier:+4
Wolfwood has extremely good reflexes and hand/eye coordination, as well as exceptional balance and great speed. He will get very into competing and be entirely unintiminated by anyone guarding the bases because he's out to beat them too. His drawbacks are a bit of a tendency towards tunnel vision, the possibility he'll accidentally use too much force (oops I was a science experiment and still don't remember that), and frankly that he might just run right into getting tagged out.

Team/role preference: Umpire.
Modifier:+5
The hilarious thing is that everything about Młynar (inhuman strength and even more inhuman speed, special keen eyesight, extensive sword experience) would make him a monster at baseball. But he's here to see that everyone can get a fair chance and have fun. The special keen eyesight will make him good at identifying what's going on and making correct calls, and his natural tendency to generate a disapproving vibe might be an asset when asking people to play fair. He will ask the games club for a copy of the rules immediately after being recruited and will have a very detailed memory of them by the time the game comes around.

Team/role preference: wherever Dax shoves him
Modifier: 0 for chaos. does he have superhuman reflexes and an omniscient awareness of every body nearby? yes. is he too busy fucking around to actually catch the ball? also yes

Player name: floral
Player contact:
Team/role preference: Noelle is getting badgered by Alec and Dax but is neutral as to the team she's on! She would do best as a catcher.
Modifier: Noelle is extremely competitive and good at strategy, and is also extremely strong, fast, and larger than most of the players. She is fairly self conscious though and doesn't have a lot of experience with team sports, which means that she nets out at a +2 modifier.
