Player intro: I'm usually in EST but tend to bounce across to CST with decent regularity. My main consumptions are age of sail nonsense and Arthurian nonsense, and I'm in the process of reacquiring hobbies beyond failing at the same videogame over and over. o/
Character Name: Horatio Hornblower
Canon: Hornblower (book series specifically despite the movie shitposting)
Vibes: The important first impression which will not be changed is one of the first lines in the second book: Horatio is absolutely a "a tall and rather gangling individual with hollow cheeks and a melancholy cast of countenance, whose [clothes] looked as if it had been put on in the dark and not readjusted since." No amount of being on dry land will solve any of that!! He's also got Very Big awkward at social interaction vibes. The most common response to anyone anywhere at any time about anything will be him clearing his throat and looking faintly embarrassed to exist. He's definitely clearly a sweet kid underneath all that, but there's a big block of social awkwardness to chisel through first. Western-wise, he's got a flannel/denim thing going on (and definitely hats, because he feels weirdly off-kilter without hats, even though it'll probably fit weird until he figures out how low to tie his ponytail with them). Definitely nothing Flashy(TM) or Expensive(TM); very much in the vein of 'ready to carry heavy things or fall down in mud about a horse' chic(?). (ofc there's a moodboard about it)
Memories: Horatio remembers only weird useless memories, but two practical skills! He's got the sense impression of home sheep (Romney marsh sheep to be specific) and toiling over Greek/Latin translations, as well as the strong sense that someone was terribly proud of him at some point in spite of the everything about him. More excitingly, he's got his knot-tying skills, so come at him when you need things made secure! Exciting for him but no one else, he's got his top tier card-counting skills, so don't come at him if you don't want to have someone inhale whatever game he gets taught to the point of breaking it!
Initial Plans: The only vibe is figuring out how to contribute. It's not clear what that will look like, but he needs border collie jobs to do and he needs them ASAP. Except a lot of offers to help rearrange furniture and run errands.
Anything else?: important fact he was born on July 4, 1776 that's just a fun thing to know about him and his very british self

Also Flynn I think will have plenty of tasks for him. we're gonna rebuild this town if it's the last thing we do bud!!

Also yes good for tasks for the bean! Tasks which will be punctuated by updates on the very small jaw collection because now he's a little convinced it's a thing!!

maybe itll help her rememeber some of her own stories c':

on the one hand hopefully yes, but on the other hand fam they're some weird nonsense hopefully there's a happier story to prompt that noise
no subject
she has a vague memory of something important of hers being stolen
and the truth is it was her childhood fanfics that were stolen
so there's a CHANCE she could come to the bad conclusion that what he tells her IS one of her stories and HOW DARE YOU PERCEIVE HER WRITING
no subject
I too would not want someone to perceive me having written the transformation of io
perhaps she will forgive him if he teacher her to make knots??
no subject
well
maybe.
for a different favor
to be determined at a later date and hung over his head forever until then

he's here for it
this is a good plan

Also: Pal is a fellow beanpole nerd who can't dress himself, they will obviously have to become awkward friends.
no subject
Also yes excellent and good! They can reinforce mussy behaviour and be carried off by the same stiff breeze. :')

Yeeessss. Palamedes is definitely more on the extroverted side, so he will inevitably be rambling endlessly at Horatio and asking 500 questions, it'll be great.
no subject
If the movies proved anything, it's that Horatio needs an extroverted friend to make him say his thoughts outside for even a single second. :''') And if the 500 questions are about counting cards, it'll be productive and grand.
